No, what a good idea would be to do is host a mysql server like masterdan does and put that on the shell...Then nomatter who hosts the game everyone would have their saves. He could put in protection like a checker to check the exp/stat values periodically to keep the hosts from editing their own stats. He could also stick with select hosts to make sure it doesn't happen. It wouldn't be too hard.
