As some of you may know, I've been gone from BYOND again for awhile. It just seems BYOND to me is slowly dieing. I joined guilds and tried to help by bringing up the community while I played, but noone really cares. I find that most players are more into the games that have been played hundreds of times, which eventually lose taste. I still can see that Anime has stolen BYOND.

Over all this time I see pretty much NO games in genres other than Anime, that I have not seen before. Players make anime games now. Action, Casual, and RPG which I find WERE the main three sections that amused me on BYOND have the same old games. I was working on some games as you may have known, I was thinking that someday I'd return and finish them. But many players would probably prefer to have a nice game of Naruto Way of Shinobi, or Bleach: Los Nachos? Am I not correct?

Well, I came to join back but now I still see no reason to do this. I really feel like BYOND's community has just driven downward over the years, and now it is at the breaking point where BYOND is going to be called:
BYAND(Build Your Anime Net Dream)

Anyway, I'm sort of done with this. I think I might just release my sources, since they could goto waste. But someday if BYOND can finally turn back into what it used to be. I'd like to give it a taste of what I was working on for so long.

I got Super Smash Bros. Brawl this morning, it's everything that we think and more. The campaign is amazing, it is very fun. Everything is multi-player..everything! You unlock a lot of different cool things such as new stage sets, characters, songs, trophies, stickers, etc. In campaign you put stickers on your guys to make them stronger(like +10 elec damage.. use it on pikachu). So it's sort of like an RPG there. ANYWAY! It's really sweet and it'd be nice if anyone else who has it post their friend code(if you want, wii code) so we can battle it up!

FIXEDMy brawl friend code is: 0946 1906 9054

My Wii code is: 4507 9379 9409 2266

Dammit! I broke my Collar Bone and Injured my AC joint, so now it's a lot harder to work on Games and such since my keyboard seems to be so high now, and it's pretty painful to type on it.

I think I will have to delay some of the testings and such for Castlevania: BYOND, and I won't be able to help out people as much either. Once I can actually move my arm around without pain, I will try to work back on BYOND. Until than, I might not be seen as much, but I will still work on my games but on a lower pace + I'm hoping within 1 month I can start doing Physiotherapy.

For all of you who played BYOND back in about 2004.. Those were the days. Dragon Ball Z was ruling BYOND, but that was the only anime you'd see. There were loads of original games, lots of fun games. Back when Mystic Journey had about 8 servers online and was SUPER popular. Back when there was an old crappy site that everyone loved, no interface, no membership, easy surfing from your Byond Dreamseaker. Also, most of the non-DBZ games were actually very fun, and they were pages of games to choose from. Ah.. The days.

Well, this blog post is not exactly about that. There were MANY awesome games that died back than, but I would have to say that SuperMetroid BYOND Battle by R.J.T was the best. You used to be able to download it, but now the link is dead. I think it would be awesome to play that game again, but R.J.T has been gone from BYOND for awhile, and I don't have any contact of him. If ANYONE can tell me how I can reach him, that'd be awesome. It would be cool to play one of the best games on BYOND again :P
This is a Review for my game known as Sabre XI.
Sabre XI is a very unique side scroller, not many like when you come to think of it. Many side scrollers on Byond are normally fighting games such as Super Smash Bros. Byond/Final Fantasy Brawlers by Oondivinezin, Megaman Wars by Dixon, Stick Fighter by Ebonshadow.

Screenshot of Second Boss fight:

Sabre XI is unique because it consists of A.I, and boss' that make it fun. The game has taken reference to Megaman, Metroid, Mario, and some other games to make it good. Such as Boss Powerups from Megaman, secret upgrades like in Metroid, alot of platform jumping such as in Mario. The game has taken some graphics from those games too, but most of it (other than turfs) are edited, and I am slowly making the game 100% custom sprites, each update I turn something into mine. The game is also not based on anything other than a series of games I have been making on byond. It's called XI, but that's off topic.

When you start off in the game, as of now you just pick a class and character, I am going to add a good deal of customization in the future.
The Class' are Sabre users, Manacannon Users, Duelists. Each gain different abilities throughout the game. A Sabre user is up close and personal, relies on their melee. Manacannon users can back up from their enemies and blast away, many of their weapons use Energy(Like mana). Duelists are in the middle. They can shoot and use melee, but not as effective.

The game is based on doing missions, I someday wish to add a cool storyline so that if you enter a boss room you can speak to the boss and such, but that will be in further updates. Yes, you can choose a mission, and there is currently 6(working on the seventh). Once you enter the mission it teleports you to the place where it takes place (A forest, mountain, base, City, etc). Each mission has atleast 2 secrets such as a health upgrade, and an item upgrade. Some have hidden boss' that I will talk about later. Each stage has unique A.I implanted, some are better than others, some will wait for you and follow you, others will walk around until they hit a wall, or find a spot they will fall, and go back. SOME will jump around the terrain, explore wherever they want to. Most of them are dangerous, and will attack you on site. Once you reach the end of the stage, you are at the boss. Each boss is unique, some shoot a lot, some fly around, some will shoot all around them using amazing techniques. Once you defeat them, you get their item, most are weapons, some are special techniques.

There is some side things you can do in the game too. There is an arena where you can host a match, choose the game type (Deathmatch only right now, adding sphere tag, Team Deathmatch, CTF). And there is currently two maps too. So they choose the map and game type and than other people can join. The people who win gain arena points, which will allow you to buy prizes. There is also quests, two currently. The current quests are fighting sub-boss', they are very hard so you can party up with a bunch of people and take it on as a team! The sub boss' and hidden within different stages.

To be added soon:

I will soon add customization to your class, you will be able to evolve into class'. Example: A Sabreman has now reached the right level to become a custom class. He chooses his body-type (Brute, Normal ,Speedster). Brutes are very slow, and attack slow, but very strong. Normals are in between. Speedsters are very fast, not too strong though. After that, you choose your class. Such as Rogue, Dueling Sabreman, Energy Sabreman, Heavy Sabreman. They are better with different body types. But lastly with your custom class.. You get to pick your own custom sabre, so I could choose between every color, and each color is based on an element(red = fire), and have 6 different styles per color.

I am almost done adding MANY drops-loots from enemies, such as helmets, armors, and forge items. Mostly every item will be able to be combined in the forge, and this will add alot of gameplay to Sabre XI. Allowing you to put up your forge skill by forging. When you start off you will do simple things such as a Rusted Sabre Handle + 2 Stainless Steel = Steel Sabre Handle, but eventually you can get particle fragments, energy cores, etc on the Sabre Handle to make you a new sabre. There will be loads of items to combine to make new stuff!

I might make another post talking about new updates. But for now, I hope to see if anyone tries to host Sabre XI again, thanks for reading my review. :)

Well, I was looking for a small project to make, so I made a Connect 4 game. Now that this game has been made, I may add a phew changes to it, than let anyone host it.
-- Screenshot --
http://img87.imageshack.us/my.php?image=connect4he3.png

I was thinking I could make a game containing about 2-4+ small games(Tic-tac-toe, Connect 4, Asteroids, centipede, etc).

Making small games is much easier, since there is no reason to spend ALOT of time on detail(which I always do on all my games :S )

I am going to make a poll to ask everyone what I should do. I am wondering if I should make more little arcade style games, or should I resurrect an old project? I will let you guys decide. Vote for one of theese games, the top 3 games will be hosted so I can let the public try out some of them(Games such as Real Life/Sabre XI are my very first two projects, so be aware they will be better if I work on them.)

Sabre XI - A side scrolling RPG-Action game. You do missions so you can buy new equipment, and find secret upgrades during the missions. Beating boss's gives extra experience, and gives you a new weapon.(based on Mega man)

Animal Crossing Society - Similar to Animal Crossing, has same features, but you can do new things such as plant, cook, new events(multi player), etc. It is pretty much exactly like animal crossing(sprites-wise).

Battle Fury - Based on the great hit Super Smash Brothers exept with more blood, and more action. Battle fury has alot to offer. It already contains many stages, and characters such as (Master chief, Grunts, Bass, Meta-knight, Metroids, Samus Aran, Etc).

Real Life - A real life simulator. You can get a job as owning a shop(ex: restaurant) and sell food to the A.I that walks around town, and to players that are hungry. You can become a criminal, and steal cars, rob banks, etc. But watch out, the police will get you! There are many things to do (hit man, Farmer, gang man, Police, Merchant, etc)

XI Apocalypse - A shooter that is right before alpha testing. It has 1 stage implanted with a train, and a lot of guns. Certain levels are zombie based and you have to survive, some you just battle off. A non-stop fun fighting shooter.

Or the Arcade Collection(already explained).
