I guess I'm wondering where information pertaining to a Dream Maker environment might be held. I've been working on a project that utilizes Lummox's DMIFontsPlus library, and it had been working fine. At some point, the text stopped appearing on screen, and I assumed that I had broken something, (that's pretty much always my assumption...) so I tried to figure out what I might have done.

THREE DAYS LATER, I was totally stumped. I had searched through all my code, clean compiled, deleted all the .rsc related stuff and recompiled. I removed everything from the .dme except for a basic mob, 10x10 map with one turf type, a DMIFonts .dm file and a single call to QuickName on Login, and still wasn't getting anything. The DMIFonts demo worked when compiled on its own, and other projects with the library worked fine.

So I finally created a new environment, copied all of the files from the first project into the new folder, checked them all off, refreshed, compiled, and ran. It worked fine... Any ideas where else something could have been hidden that was causing a graphical issue?
Started out mostly as an experiment in perlin world generation, but than as usual, i got distracted...

The minimap only shows areas you have seen, and terrain changes only get updated when you are in the area and can see them. The map can be resized to a smaller version if desired, and all HUD elements can be made semi-transparent or hidden. The graphics are iffy and need to have the colors matched up a little better, but they're mine, except the grass border which is a heavily edited copy from some Zelda game for now. Working on the replacement for it.

I'm thinking something with elements of Minecraft, Dwarf Fortress Adventure Mode, and traditional RPGs. And no, it's not vampire focused. I just liked how Vampy came out :)

EDIT: Added a pic with adjusted HUD elements.
I'm trying to set up ghost images for when players are selecting moves so they can see where their piece will be assuming all goes as planned. I just have static ghosts at the moment, and I'm wondering if this looks to be a good enough indicator, or if I should go with some sort of animation. Cycling through each move series or something...
I've been working on a complete rewrite and upgrade of ManoAMano. For the third time... It will be hex based, allowing for up to six players and even more mayhem than the original. I plan on finally adding the AI players I always meant to, and have sketched out some ideas for a solo/adventure mode. Granted, I have programmed NOTHING for almost four years, so it is taking me a while to get back into the swing of things, but its coming along. I posted a really early alpha screenshot and video if anyone is interested... https://www.facebook.com/byondmanoamano

My uncle passed away early Saturday morning. He was the closest I had to a father, as I havn't seen mine since I was five years old. He used to take my mother, my sister and I on family vacations every year, and was always around to do all the stuff with me that my father should have been doing. I'm going to miss him.

Sorry to be all depressing and stuff. It's been a really bad year.

Well, I'm back at my Mom's house again. After my mom passed away in august, my uncle moved into the house to help take care of my grandmother. He's been on chemo for almost two years, and he's finally losing. Currently, he is here with Hospice, and probably only has a few days left.

My grandmother just spent the day in the hospital because she tripped and fell, breaking her arm. So I'm here hanging out taking care of my grandma, and watching my uncle die. And unfortunately, I think him dying is going to pretty much take all the will to live from her as well. Nobody should have to watch their children die, and this will be her second in three months...
First off, thanks to all of you for your thoughts and sympathy. It's still hard to fathom, but I'm getting better.

On to less important things... Schnitzelnagler posted a bug report in the forum a couple of days ago, which had rendered ManoAMano unplayable. What bothers me is that the game seems to have been this way for about six weeks, and nobody had posted an ingame bug report or a notification on the forum. Ouch...

It looks to be fixed now, along with a fix for a minor button overlay issue that has been hanging round for a while.
