Castle Review

A review for Castle created by Abra
Gameplay9/10

OK im going to review a game known as Castle by Abra, this game is pretty old, but it is real fun, and it dont have a review so I decided to give it one.

OK first the story is that The forces of evil have teamed up against you, and have destroyed most of your castle. Your job (Or your teams), is to fight of these forces of evil. They come in "waves" each wave is usually harder than the last.

Gameplay: I believe the gameplay was very thought out. The damage system is really good, and very precise, so if your playing alone or with friends it still balances the damage. And the Gameplay, may I warn, is VERY addictive.

Icons: This game is oldish, so the icons arent THAT well, but they work. Believe me, They were done pretty well. The farther you get in the game, the more surprising, monsters/icons will come.

Gameplay 2 (xD): More on Gameplay, you have difficulties as well such as Easy, Hard, Insane ect. and with each one the monsters get stronger (duh), but the game gets funner. There are acually 30 Waves of Monsters, with the final boss being the Time Wizard, then the waves restart. the game still has alot of surprises. I reccommend the game for anyone.

I dont know if Abra, worked super hard to make this game the way it is, or if it just came out that way, either way, the game is great. I play it ALOT. You Rock Abra ^_^

Haha, it's so damn true.

If my experiences have proved this true: having your whole line of text covertly blocked because of foul language is worse than Combat Arms censoring (which is a game that blocks "ni" in sniper, and stupid stuff like that).

To make myself sound credible, I have been playing Byond games since 2003, and I still have a 2006 version of Castle ^.^ . But yes, I will always, always have complaints about anything related to Byond so I should stop before I get ahead of myself dotdotdot

Well to be honest im not too sure myself, if you guys can come up with anything new atall i can add!

My idea rack is almost empty to be honest, the addition of Strat mode was going to be my last i think,

Basicly strat mode means player one can only be arch, Player 2 can only be mage and so on, with 4 players then player one gets to choose between arch and preist, with 3 players player one chooses between the arch trap and preist, and so on.
He can also set others to be somthing else, so he can set player 3 to be preist and the suchlike.

I forgot to add the addition of FUN mode,

Everytime a player beats the wizard he is given a special code, a random string of 7 numbers that is specific to that player, then if a player chooses fun mode they will need to input this code, otherwise the game is reset.

fun mode = Every player starts off with 5 million, number of enemys is astronically high, e.g 50 lines of goblins on wave one, FIFTY!
Enemys are also abnomrmally strong, and deathspikes will be disabled.
Oh, the password is only given if the player can solo the wizard, so its for proffesionals only, oh also, dont expect to succeed in hacking! hehe.
fun mode receives 500 upkeep and 0 score always. so place epic bgers untill your hearts content! haha,, oh! One doorlife ftw.

The highscores wony be updated unfortunatly as i never added that part abra did, so i dont know what the site is or ect.

The new icons are my server unique, the hostfiles i release will contain the old versions icons (of course improved, like i improved the lancer and dser), this is due to a promise to Abra, even IF he hasent kept to his side of the deal i still think i should keep up with my side.

Ill run a quick train of the updates:

Blizzard(forgot to add a message)
New skin
Choose Enemy Amounts
Starting money now is either;
200 5 players - will be random between-

Okay so the game was already great but thanks to Rushin the game has been greatly improved. The new icons are great and have helped to improve the entire feel of the game. The addition of the 5th player and the priest class is also a great improvement, overall the game is addictive and brilliant, yet highly underrated!

For my two cents. I think this is a great game that's been poorly realized. I guess that overall it's marginally better than most other games of it's kind but I think more potential could have been tapped here. When I first played this game it did have the elements that kept me interested but once I played it for a little while it just got boring too fast. So I don't really play this game seriously anymore but it is a decent coffee break game or just a little boredom buster to play with a few friends. It's not bad to just watch either. So yeah it's not bad at all but it's missing something.

That is to be expected from the BYOND community. I mean, you run that risk playing absolutely any game on BYOND and it only excludes games that both have rules against it, censors against it, and staff who stop it.

Yeah, Castle doesn't have anything to stop bad language, but this is one reason it is a game you are encouraged to make your own server to avoid this. After all, Castle is a "Pick up and play" game, it has no save files.

Also, you run the risk of being offended through words you don't want to hear by standing in public, so if that's a reason to avoid something you may as well avoid all human contact.

Yes yes, it is a good game, but it is hard as it is a strategy defense game and unless you actually put some effort into learning about it you might be turned away from castle.

And to note, Castle takes a long time to play so make sure you have spare time before diving into it.
