I intended to work all week on my game. I didn't even play that many games (though I did dabble a little with Space Rangers, Chocobo's Dungeon, Star Ocean, Lunar: Silver Saga, and Champions Online). Instead, something like this happened:
  • On Monday, I noticed what an absolutely cluttered mess my room had become over the past few months. How could I be expected to work in these conditions? So I shelled out for another storage rack and did a heavy room reorganization and cleaning. I did a real thorough job of it and felt too sore to do much else.
  • On Tuesday, I suffered from apparent severe sleep deprivation that was probably augmented by this minor cold bug I've been suffering through for awhile. I decided that a ache on the left side of my mouth that I mistook for a cavity problem (a dentist who looked at it found nothing) was actually some kind of infection. The general practitioner looked and found nothing either. (Fortunately, it's a lot better than it once was - it comes and goes, but seems to be doing more going.)
  • On Wednesday, I was largely caught up in the drama of various comment threads. There was the Rock Paper Shotgun post about some British bill to limit the Internet connection of those who are caught pirating - my younger brother actually ended up having a long conversation with me about that, which is very unusual. An old associate of mine left a thoughtless barb that really bothered me on my Wordpress blog to which I replied and reiterated to a truly obsessive compulsive degree. Somehow, by the time all of this was done, the day was over - fatigue and soreness emerged to remind me that I still wasn't over my cold.
  • On Thursday (today), I decided to migrate from my WordPress blog back to my Blogger. I had decided I really didn't like how Wordpress was allowed to monetize my Blog and yet I had to pay in order to modify my own CSS (something you can do for free on Blogger). That took quite some time because my old Blogger blog was a mess, there were some new features to add that weren't available when I was last using it, and I decided to improve its look.
Now, it's late in the day. There's not much left to do but take out the trash and hit the sack.

It's not looking good for development this week. I've a Spanish midterm on Tuesday and I should really take quite a bit of time out of my remaining three days of vacation to study each of the three involved chapters.
The knowledge necessary to create a simple blogging system for yourself is actually rather marginal when you think about it. Then you can monetise it yourself with Google Ads and not worry about the software stiffing you or unexpected charges.

But I suppose, unless you go the extra mile to add in your own rich-text stuff, you do miss out in that. I'm far too lazy to bother, so I wrote functions to turn {$this} into tiberath.com/this and [$this is a foot note] to auto generate footnotes and place in-page hyper links to them and whatnot. I was bored that night. ;)
That definitely sounds like a fun thing to check out when I'm out of school. At the moment, too much on my plate.

I'm good with Google Ads right now - Blogger.com actually has built-in support for it. Wordpress had a policy that you're not allowed to bring in any kind of ads at all.

(Though I'm not holding my breath at making money from Google ads. I think I've made something like a dollar from years of web traffic. They don't let you cash out until you've accumulated $100 or so, I think. Nonetheless, it's the principle of the thing!)
I've made $18.00 with tiberath.com. =D
Nice! I wonder how many hits a day that took. At its heyday, I was pulling some 300-400 hits a day on my Wordpress blog because I had written up some rare hint guides.
I can answer that question easily.

Page Impressions: 11,287
Clicks: 68
Estimated Earnings: AU$18.58
Interesting - I'm at:

Page impressions: 10,361
Clicks: 7
Earnings: $1.09

It seems they pay a lot more for clicks than they do page impressions.
I never update my site though. Even if I do have "days" I'm supposed to update it. >.>
