The following are random compensation sections from posts in the BYOND developers forum

"Compensation:This will based on how much work you plan on doing. The more the better you will get in return. Mod positions will be saved for those that help the most."

Oh, the harder we work the more we are punished?

"Compensation:
Administration Of Duel Monsters Darkness"

"Payment: Owner Verb"

this was what somebody WANTED???

"Compensation:
all Staff will be Compensated ingame with Staff and ingame benifits"

"Compensation:
Admin Commands in Game, and well.. If we earn beneficts, he'll."

I opened up 6 random posts, 5/6 were compensating with a punishment, 5/6 were anime games.

/fail

As much as I love sitting on my computer 24/7 waiting for someone to break a rule- wait, thats no fun. It seems animetards have overloaded themselves with how epic there rename of a rip is going to be that there is a chemical imbalance in thier brain. Administrating a game is a job, not a reward. To all animetards- Don't compensate a job well done with another job. Money is cooler.
It's called a classified ad. If you don't like the compensation then you simply don't contact the person who made the ad.
I don't, only people with chemical imbalances in thier brain would

Alas, welcome to BYOND, my friend.

Silly Lige, I've been on byond a while. And have known anime fanboys have brain trauma for a very, very long time
...

Yes you are

Stating the obvious isn't really something to be proud of nowadays.

Clearly, it's not obvious to those who are posting in classified ads as they continue to do so, without result I might add.

I'll go back to my point. It's a classified ad, they can offer what ever they feel like giving as compensation. It's common sense that anyone would compensate whatever they want to/could give. Not everyone around here has money. Whoever wants their compensation could contact the ad creator and whoever doesn't want it, won't contact him/her.

Of course they can, I'm just cooncerned with thier mental state as they offer unpayed jobs for doing an unpayed job.

Not everyone around here has money.

I know, that was just one possibility.

Whoever wants their compensation could contact the ad creator and whoever doesn't want it, won't contact him/her.

True dat.

True that.

Fixed =D You can thank me later.

It's internet slang, get used to it.

Do you know why people offer admin as compensation? Because the majority of people see it as compensation. There are always tons of people who wish they could wield the mighty ban-hammer. Everyone wants some sort of power and a sense of superiority... on some shitty ass 2D game. Some people are just hopeless.

My point, they shouldn't but bleh.

Just like in real life, positions of power are desired, in particular for the ability to abuse them. Administration is very much compensation.

Sure, but the administrators get to have loads of fun doing it.
I can't say I particularly enjoy my positions of power. No-one really likes an admin. My job essentially involves a lot of kicking, convincing and complimenting others until they do what needs doing, and the people you hand out punishment to will in 99% of cases feel it's not just or fair. After all, if they did so, they'd probably have known why their action was bad in the first place, and probably not done it. The rule of the bigger bastard, essentially.
Psh, Stephen, you're not part of the intended audience. :P

A good administrator ^

Most just random kick/ban/del for the
hilariousness of ruining someones day,
offering compensation of getting to
ruin someones day is kind of juvinile,
but I suppose most anime heads are.

I wouldn't say the problem is really with "animetards", it's more so with a specific age group. Of course there are exceptions to this. I also believe it has to do with the mindset of people not knowing the fundamentals of things like responsibility.
