A new game to try: Wikzaggeration! in Off Topic

I just made this up, so it's probably a lousy game. But here goes.

You find a Wikipedia entry that contains content of questionable accuracy or sanity. Then you add your own sentence to it. Then everyone has to guess which sentence is the fake. Here's a sample.


Medina is known for its Root candle Company. A. I. Root in the late 1800's built the factory and used the honey of many bees to create the infamous candles. Because of the honey candle business, tourists can find many bees throughout the city. Each 10 bees collected makes a new item available at your Medina safehouse.

AHA! This one is the fake:

"A. I. Root in the late 1800's built the factory and used the honey of many bees to create the infamous candles."

You don't use honey to make candles!

Yes... you do at times.

The correct answer was:

"Each 10 bees collected makes a new item available at your Medina safehouse." as the false line, since it doesn't exist in the wiki entry.

Ummm, are you sure about that? You use beeswax to make candles, but honey? I mean, I guess it might be used for a scent ingredient or something, but I honestly don't think you can make a candle with honey as the main component (as those statements imply) Thus, they're false!

I know this is the one Gug planted, and therefore it's the one that's the "right" solution to this game, but the sentence I picked (deliberately, just to avoid picking this one, actually) is equally wrong (though not as absurd)

Honey and wax aside, the idea of the candles being "infamous" gave me a chuckle. Young ladies, protect your virtue and stay away from that den of ill... uh... chandlery!

But as I noted at the start, "You find a Wikipedia entry that contains content of questionable accuracy or sanity." Otherwise the bogus sentence has to imitate accuracy and sanity, and how much fun is that?
