...and these are just the ones that interest (or at least might interest) me. Even if half of them get delayed, Fall is still shaping up to be a remarkably full season.

Update 8/5: They're dropping like flies!
I'm a hardcore Fallout fan yet I'm more excited by Fable 2.

The Force Unleashed, Mirror's Edge and Left 4 Dead are the only other games on that list which interest me.
Mercs 2: do want. Also STALKER Clear Sky but seeing as it's a PC-only game it's not on your list. Far Cry 2 is also looking pretty good.
Left 4 Dead would be really cool on the Wii.
Rock Band 2? =D

Culled from that list, the ones I'm looking forward to:

It occurs to me now that there are a lot of "2"s in that list.

It's the year of the sequel.
Very few of these titles interest me. Though the one I -really- look forward to, Fallout 3, seems a tad tentative for me still. Hopefully, Bethesda has cleaned up the mess they showed for the demo and release what they promised.
Ah I'm looking forward to Gears of War 2 and Mirrors Edge, although I think it'll be good I think it'll have a bunch of issues that they'll fix in a sequel. It just seems like one of those experimental games.
Not a Final Fantasy fan, or just didn't hear yet that FFXIII is coming to the Xbox as well?

My "watch and wait" titles from your list:

August 31, 2008 Mercenaries 2: World in Flames Electronic Arts
September 2, 2008 Infinite Undiscovery Square Enix
September 16, 2008 Star Wars: The Force Unleashed LucasArts

November 4, 2008 Left 4 Dead Valve

A few not on your list that I'm curious about:
August 26, 2008 Tales of Vesperia
September 9, 2008 Zoids Assault (I'm a sucker for SRPGs)
September 23, 2008 Lego Batman
September 30, 2008 Legendary
December 12, 2008 FFXIII (looks to have recently been moved up to November 20th)

I am a Final Fantasy fan but my only real intrest in the announcement was the impact it'll have on the XBOX 360's overall success.
It's strange, ever since Final Fantasy IX my interest in the series has been declining however I still enjoy the new installments a lot when I actually play them.

I guess it's always going to be a new story/world with minimal changes to the core gameplay. Even with all its changes Final Fantasy XII isn't that far from the NES games. That's not a bad thing, it just makes it hard to get excited about.
You can't say 'oh, this time your character is going to be able to do this' or 'we will finally find out what happened to that character'.
Rock Band 2? =D

I've heard good things about Rock Band, but it doesn't really interest me. Reflexes + Memorization - Exploration = probably not my cup of tea.

I once wrote up a good-sized blog comment on my experience with FFVII, but now I can't find it. In a nutshell: great steampunk/streampunk visuals, annoying everything else. "Streampunk" is a word I just made up. It means science fiction that uses streamline (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Streamline_Moderne) design, a la Fallout and Bioshock. (C) GUGHUNTER, 2008 so there.

August 26, 2008 Tales of Vesperia

I'm more of a Western RPG fan. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/ Cultural_differences_in_role-playing_video_games

September 9, 2008 Zoids Assault (I'm a sucker for SRPGs)

Never heard of it!

September 23, 2008 Lego Batman

Lego Star Wars was good, but too many puzzles for my tastes. By all accounts Lego Indiana Jones was along the same lines, plus THEY TOOK OUT THE NAZIS!?

September 30, 2008 Legendary

Hmm, this could be neat. Merits further investigation!
Where should I send my royalty cheques?

Thanks for that! I feel the same way (but do enjoy a good Eastern), but all the pictures of Infinite Undiscovery I had seen pointed towards it being an Eastern RPG. Now it'll get a bit more attention. =)

So far the only thing I really know about it is that it has a tactical battle system (think Fire Emblem or Final Fantasy Tactics).

I get that impression too, but the title supposedly represents the vast amount of exploration available in the game -- so, if it's engrossing enough, I can probably overlook the things that tend to bug me about Eastern RPG's. At least until somewhere around the four hundredth random combat.

JT -- When you create a streampunk masterpiece, just give me an autographed copy and we'll call it even. :)

Your joke was way funnier than mine.

I've got to say I was impressed with how they handled the Nazi stuff. They just went through and removed all the swashstikas and direct references to them being Nazis. Apart from that they kept them just as they were in the movies.
For some reason I was expecting him to be facing off against a completely different fictional military group just so that nobody could draw any lines at all between the Lego characters and Nazis.
The irony is there's not one person alive today who hasn't made a swastika out of their lego collection.

I never made Swastika... Was too busy making buildings with walls that are really doors and such..... I miss my legos :(....

Also, making cars was fun too!!!!!!
