Scammer?

I know I quit BYOND but hear me out. I restarted my computer and it logged in to MSN, then I see Magnum2k online. So I remembered that I did some pixel art for him a while back in which he said he'd pay me 2$ for.

So I ask him about it (3 weeks after) and he said "I've disabandoned that project. I'm working on a new one. It's $2, not like it's a full pledged project."

So I say, it doesn't matter - he made me work for something making me expect some monetary return, no matter how low the amount is, so it doesn't matter if the project is abandoned.

Then he says "Actually, I abandoned the project the same day you sent me that icon. You just suddenly never came online." Now I checked the history, and I sent him the icon on the 9th of October and I asked him again on the 13th if I was going to get it. This was his reply,"Next week when I get my next check I'll send it to you, don't rush me, its not a lot of money. I am gonna pay you, I don't go back on my word, and I don't like owing people either."

He claimed that he abandoned the project the same day I sent the icon and I never came online afterwards, and yet he told me 4 days after I sent him the icon to expect money within a week. This isn't even besides the point. If you make someone work telling them they're expecting cash after it, you pay them, regardless if you're using it or not.

He claims it's perfectly alright, saying that I'm cribbing over 2$ - "It's $2, not like it's a full pledged project. It would only be a scam if I used the icon. But I'm just amused at the fact that you're still bothering me over $2, seriously." What I want to know is, isn't this a scam? Can you just make someone do paid work (no matter the amount) for you and in the end just say you're not working on the project anymore and you aren't using it so you won't pay them?

Keep in mind, I knew I was never going to get 2$ from this guy, but what annoyed me was how he was a 'man of his word' and how he thinks he didn't scam me just because he's not using the icon. That, along with the fact that he lied saying I never came online after I sent him the icon, when I actually did and he actually told me to expect money. Can I make some freelance programmer take some time out of his life to do some paid work and in the end just say I'm not using it so I won't pay you? I'm sure if I was some famous BYOND person he wouldn't have 'scammed' me.

Funny how I see so many similar posts related to this, but this ain't emotional crap or whatever.

I am leaving BYOND. I've lost motivation. I've slowly stopped checking BYOND and opening pager/MSN.

I will be back occasionally whenever 'good' games are finally released like Spirit Age, Shin Itsuki Saga etc.

Bleach: After-Life is not under my ownership anymore but it's being worked on by 4 people, so expect that to be done soon.

If you didn't know already, Bleach copied everything from Yu Yu Hakusho. Yes. Now if you didn't know, Naruto copied everything from Hunter X Hunter.

Togashi, who made Yu Yu Hakusho, also made Hunter X Hunter (and should be pissed.) Hunter X Hunter is being remade now. Watch it now, and forget about Naruto for the rest of your lives.
