I think it would be neat to have a better line of products from the BYOND Store. I occasionally have some cash that I wouldn't mind putting towards a nice BYOND shirt with a slogan such as "I've been pwnt by Lummox JR [again]" or something possibly more creative such as (and I apologize for the fact that I'm an extremely uncreative person): Rips

(The image is supposed to use the term "rips," referring to BYOND's game-base, and finish up with a "tear" in the eye---not the wet kind of tear, but rather like a torn fabric or something; what you see was the best I could do as a quick sketch in MS Paint with the default color palette, which is what the entire image was).

Of course, I wouldn't mind more of a selection of what's basically already available. There's a black hat, but I like to wear white hats. No polos? And there is a zip-up hoodie in the blue-on-white section, but it's for juniors of the female gender-thing.

I'd like to buy stuff from there, but it seems like nothing in the current selection would really fit in with my wardrobe, right?

We're basically limited by what CafePress offers, though I recall that they added a bunch of new styles recently. Some day I'll take a few hours and add more stuff to the store, but realize that that takes away from my BYOND development time. ;)
Dude... BYOND has a store?

(few minutes of browsing later)

I am sooo buying that oval sticker for my truck (Do they have one that's adhesive on the front? so I can put it on the inside window?), and a t-shirt or two for myself once I get my tax returns. But... the boxer shorts would be kinda creepy. :)

I would REALLY like the white hat with black visor shown in the picture for the "Hats, etc." section, but when I go there, theres only the black hat? What's up with that? I want a white hat. :(

EXACTLY! That's how I feel. =)

I'm still waiting on black shirts... although the ringer tee is tempting...

I'm pretty sure CafePress has created options for darker shirts now. They may be in beta or something, though.
In response to Hedgemistress (#5)
They've been out (at cafe press) for a while, and I know that Mike H. has talked about them in the past (in fact, black shirts were prizes in the BYOND contest of October '05...) but I just don't think Mike's gotten around to them. Hopefully soon! :]

Ah, shows how up on the times I am. :P

I wouldn't authorize the use of leetspeak associated with my name. But, "No put usr in proc. Ungh." would probably do nicely.

Of course, the trouble with that is, no one would get it. It's too much of an in-joke. I thought of making a "Permanent Code 14" T-shirt around the time they announced my last job would be closing down the center, but no one who hasn't worked there would get the joke.

Lummox JR

Now that you mention it, I think that both could be combined. "I've been owned by Lummox JR" line on front (probably better to rephrase it; "owned" outside of leet-speak just doesn't have the same effect), and "No put usr in proc. Ungh" on back. It would be pretty representative of the case, y'know, 99% of the times when people are "owned" by Lummox. ;P

Speaking of which, I don't believe I ever got my stickers for my reward... Oh well.

Yeah, some new items would be nice. I have thought about ordering something, but I wear polos 6 days of the week(Because I work 6 days of the week), so I very rarely get to wear normal shirts.

I've never been a fan of T-Shirts. I like the whole, buttons up the entire front look. Black shirt and blue jeans is awesome!

Hahah nice one Keeth also nice drawing :P
In response to A.T.H.K (#14)
I, unfortunately, didn't draw that.
It was found on an old long forgotten Pencil Jack joke site.
But there should be no problems using it, considering the art was publicly released and such.
In response to Keeth (#15)
"Publicly released" as in "put out on the net", or "publicly released" in that it had a license or explicit written statement to the effect that the artist released all rights to the general public, including the rights to make money off it and derivative works?

Because just posting something on the net doesn't release any rights... if it did, all the BYOND games would be public domain.
In response to Hedgemistress (#16)
Yea, it's probably not a good idea to use it.
If it was used, it'd be best if someone was hired to drew their own imitation of the picture.
In response to Keeth (#17)
Or not, Goku or whatever that thing was is probably copyrighted on its own.
In response to Nadrew (#18)
There is such a thing as the right to parody, but you run into a gray area (or rather, a green one, because who has more money is the ultimate deciding factor) when you're using a copyrighted likeness to make a statement about something else.

For instance, you could make a t-shirt with a certain famous Vulcan getting his eyes poked out that says "SPORK SPOCK!"... you're commenting (sort of) on the character of Spock, and since such commentary is 1) protected and 2) impossible if you're not able to invoke the image and/or name of the thing being commented upon, you have a legal right to do so, and Paramount really has no standing to stop you from doing so.

On the other hand, a "SPOCK HATES EGGO WAFFLES" t-shirt is a comment on Eggo Waffles invoking Spock, for some damned reason. Paramount does have a right to stop you, because you're attributing your own viewpoint to their property.

I elaborate on this because that's one of the biggest misconceptions about copyright on the internet (aside from "well, it's just the internet lol")... that any time you use a copyrighted figure for humorous intent, it's covered by the right to parody.

So, a "Goku Sucks Dragon Balls" t-shirt with a passing likeness of Goku would pass legal muster, but a Goku-related (again, assuming that's who/what that was) BYOND shirt probably wouldn't.

The semi-ironic thing about this is that it means that companies have more ability to quash bootleg products that mention their products positively. Lucas can't do anything about the "Joss Whedon Is My Master Now" t-shirts which, aside from paraphrasing a line from the Star Wars movies, used a rather distinctive logo type... but several people who've offered Star Wars-positive or neutral t-shirts for sale (like R. Stevens of Diesel Sweeties and his Star Wars pixel art shirts) have received cease & desist letters.
