Unfortunately, life and lady luck have both caught up to me. Due to some unfortunate circumstances, I will not be able to complete my BYOND CCG in time for the Casual Competition.

This doesn't mean that I will discontinue work on it, only that it will not be quick. I've made a lot of leeway, and almost finished quite a few core systems. Unfortunately, nothing is finished only worked on. Here is an overview of the progress so far.

I've written a display system that sets up three lists of screen object "proxies" for the cards in the game. The first list is set up for the first player's point of view, the second for the second player's point of view, and the third is for any observers watching the game. This comes from my boner for screen objects and my disdain for playing with maps.

I have set up 99% of the system for interacting with the proxy cards, leaving that 1% open for any future needs. I have not however finished the equations for determining the position of the proxy cards on the screen because as much as I love math, I just can't sit still long enough to balance them.

I've done a lot of work on the backbone of the game itself; players, decks, shuffling, drawing cards, turns. Disappointingly, I haven't gotten around to doing the visuals of these actions yet and I need to write a viable screen-text system.

I've written up a large portion, of the action-reaction, "chain" system. It is invariably flawed at this point and needs to be carved out more... sigh.

I still need to take care of how rounds (sets of turns) are handled, the entire game outside of battling cards, a large array of visual effects, a set of cards, etc. ... I only wish I had the concentration to finish this on time, or with any quickness at all.
In my case it's been more like: welcome... to The World.
