How do I play .rms?
You hope that you don't have to. RMS files are RealMedia streams - RealMedia as in RealPlayer, and RealPlayer as in MOST EVIL PIECE OF MUSIC SOFTWARE EVER CREATED.

If you can possibly get the file in ANY other format, then please please please please do so. If you absolutely must use RealPlayer, though, you can download it from real.com. Read everything carefully during the installation process, don't let it install ANYTHING apart from the core RealPlayer program (which is free, don't let them fool you into paying for anything), and be prepared to manually rid your system of RealPlayer's spyware afterwards. Once you've listened to the file, I strongly recommend you uninstall RealPlayer, and then forcibly erase all remaining traces of it from your system.

Don't say I didn't warn you. =\

The newest versions of realplayer are getting better. I think there's also a "lite" version and versions suited for educational and business use.

I had it installed for about an hour a few months ago, and it was pretty abysmal then. I can only imagine how bad it used to be if that qualifies as "better". :-\

I could rant and rave for half an hour, but it's simpler to just link you: http://jogin.com/weblog/archives/2004/02/29/real_obnoxious

I can't begin to say how much I agree.I would try to say it, but I think that this article does it better (not written by me, of course =P).
