Update: Now with $60 in cash for the winners! Thank you Tetsuya!

This is a reminder that the 2011 Game in a Day event starts tonight at 12:01am eastern time with the announcement of themes. You have about 12 hours left to get your various snacks together and let everyone know not to disturb you for the next 48 hours.

If you need a different date, this is your last chance to request one. No requests for alternate dates will be allowed after the themes have been announced.

Also, doesn't anyone want to donate money this year? Come on, I can't be the only person offering money, and only $10. Show some support; I know the BYOND community is loaded with cash. :P
I've not sent an email requesting another date because I still don't know if I'll be at home enough this weekend to participate. But that is fine, I would rather attempt to participate with everyone than have my own theme. Good luck to everyone I'll be beating this weekend :P
I have to take part this year to make up for last year, it'll be tomorrow probably.
aawwww yea
Meant to ask, is it possible to split up my time into two 12 hour segments? One on Saturday and one on Sunday.

As long as you get your project to me before 12:01am Monday morning, I don't care if you split your time into four Koalas.
Well, I just got a parking ticket. Now I have motivation to win.
BYOND is loaded with cash, not me. :P

I thought it was GiaD, not GitD(Game in two days.) Does that mean we can actually code for two days, or is it a Friday/Saturday choice type of thing?
This is what I'm not getting, we have 48 hours, but only 24 hours to use, but we can use both days? It's not like there's a timer that you can turn on and off while you work to only use 24 hours. So I'm not sure I get it >.>, something like 36 hours would've made sense to me if you wanted to let any time zone enter.
I'll be awake so early tomorrow.
This'll be fun. (:
Nice to know people actually read the posts.

Its based over 2 days to compensate for time differences across the world, people's inability to do it on a specific week day etc, and that its based on trust. Its not as if your winning a tv gameshow or anything, if you 'cheat' your only cheating yourselves.
Actually there is $60 involved so that does create a reason for someone to cheat.
Oh I'd better bribe someone £50 then so I can win.

:p
This means that it's $50 first prize and $10 second prize.

For those of you who didn't catch that in the previous posts.

3 hours until the start :)
Oasiscircle I challenge you! :3

Tetsuya has allowed me to split it however I see fit, so I'm probably going to do $30 for 1st, $20 for second, and $10 for third. My judging results are far from unbaised, so I think it's better to split up the money between the top entries than to give it all to whichever one I like best.

I've always liked you Iain, and don't worry my entry is Totally not Naruto GOA. (is)

2 more hours guys, get Set!
I hate time zones. There are two websites that say 12:00 is 1 hour away, but then another website says it's 2 hours away like Tru said. You mind confirming this Iain? Is it one or two hours from now?
Its 1 hr.. I live in EST
I could've swore that this was being held on Oct. 1st & 2nd, considering it was the highest voted in the polls.
