Wrote about 50 lines of code, but I never felt motivated enough to finish, which is a real shame, because I made some pretty good icons for someone with as little artistic skill as me. Regardless, you may see Hallucinogenic Honey Badgers of the Zodiac in the distant future, after I feel like I have time to do things again (which will probably be after I finish visiting/applying to colleges or when summer finally comes around, depending on whether school becomes more difficult or not). Regardless, I'm kinda disappointed in myself, this will be the first year where I won't have at least a hastily completed GIAD entry to hand in (it's also the first year with prizes, too, >_>). Either way, it probably would've panned out a bit better for me if I didn't end up making some hasty plans with my friends both late Friday night and early Saturday evening, but oh well, there's always next year.

I just realized that my GIAD project is extremely similar to my entry last year, oops. I'm keeping it, though, the badger icon I made is too hot to scrap.

In all seriousness, though, nothing has changed. The death of one man cannot stop a machine made of thousands; someone will simply take Osama's place. Regardless, though, its difficult to be sure that Osama was even alive until now; there's some evidence that a few of the tapes were falsified, and there are different, conflicting reports of his death from various sources. On top of this all, we're still pouring money into making about 17 metric craptons of war a year, which puts the government further into debt and rapes us slightly more each year. Also, this is compounded by our slow loss of rights, all in the name of counter terrorism (think the TSA, which goes so far as to swab you for bomb making materials randomly (I would know, they pulled me out of line 2 weeks ago)). But yet, while all this goes on, people still seem to be able to snort some pure, uncut patriotism and congratulate the government for killing 1 extremist.

Geohot and SCEA agreed to a settlement today that resulted in a permanent injunction; he can no longer hack the PS3. However, judging by what's been said so far, it seems that he was screwed, hard, though we can't say for sure because the settlement terms were confidential.
