I was thinking about this.. I am now starting a project(One i shall finish) that you can raise your own warrior. However heres the part i am stuck on. Should i let the owner of their warrior actually play as the warrior or give their warrior an AI and the owner cannot control their warrior 100% because it has a mind of its own and the main point of the game is to just be their to help the warrior to train/battle and travel.

I would say AI...

1. It gives the game distinction.

2. If you didnt do this, then whats the difference from this game an any other 'ol RPG?
This idea sounds good, :P. You should DEFINATELY go with the AI, because, like said before, it'd make it..Unique. :P.
Ter13, there's no need to make such a fuss about spelling and grammar. Please don't do so.

Jiskuha, try to take comments like that in your stride in future, rather than responding to them such a hostile manner. Also, although you were in this case correct that the subthread would be deleted, please don't try to second-guess or "call over" the moderators. Doing so will not make a difference to how the thread is moderated, if at all.

I've deleted the whole grammar subthread.

Well I did have a project awhile back I had paid someone to do, just because I wanted to see it done, but I didnt have time, and I didn't think I could do it right.

It was called "My Little Warrior" and bascilly it was a virtual pet for byond. It was designed to even have the graphics of the old 1990's key-chain pets. You know, B&W LCD or whatever...

Anyways... It worked just like a Virtal Pet. You could send him to different classes (which cost you Gold) or you could have him work jobs, which were much less effective, but you got paid money.

Then of course, there was some mini games where you could interact with your Warrior, like sword play and stuff.

There was a shop option, where when you went there, you would randomly find equipment in the shop, which you could choose to buy or not buy.

Then of course you had the normal options like feed, wash, ect ect...

Why would you need equipment? Because there was also adventure mode, where bascailly all you would do is see your warrior walking, first in fields, then in forests, then in a mountains range, the background GFX changed over LONG periods of time.

While he walked, he would randomly encounter monsters or equipment.

The father he walked, the better the treasure or the stronger the monsters.

Then, I was also planning on a online mode, where you could connect to a server and upload your "Little Warrior" save file to the server and challange other players.

Too bad the person I had paid (in advance mind you) had other things to do, and declined a while later. It was a oldbie if I remeber right, I dont even remeber who it was again, Kunark I think.

Anyways, feel free to use any of those ideas.... I won't be digging up this idea for.. well maybe never again.
You are aware of how hard realistic AI is right?
In response to DeathAwaitsU
Realistic, sure, but what about an AI that merely analyzes statistics.

I've made basic AI that picks the weakest targets off first, or if the foes are too powerful, tries to avoid conflict. All you have to do is define conditions in which an action is taken.
