Ignore this if it looks 'TL;DR' it covers why I deleted my last blog post (of yesterday).
Yesterday I threw a quick post together lumping the three projects I'm working on; one of which was a new project. I'm on vacation and long story short I don't have my usual computer or extra-time so I wasn't able to detail anything and it was mostly vague. This morning I felt guilty handling the first sight of the project that way.
RPG (Working Title)
My new project, in the simplest of terms, is a rogue-like. As of now the goal is merely an infinite-dungeon in which players can delve into placing their records on the high scores.
At the moment I'm just ironing out basic systems and functions so later content-based updates won't take so long.
SilkGames' HUD Library
I was just going to steal(andgivecredit) it's font but the text handling was really nicely done so I stripped that out too. :D
Forgot to mention this. It's more or less a given in most my projects.
JP's Dungeon Generator
Found this when looking up information on randomly-generated maps for Stranded. Pretty nice.
Here's a few images:
On-screen-object based inventory. Going to add Item identification soon.
Chests give you experience and an item generated as if a few levels deeper.
One of the functions I added to spells recently was "chaining" in which if a spell hasn't hit its max range yet it will bounce to a close mob, even yourself.
One fun spell is raising dead, with it you can revive enemy or fellow players turning them into your un-dead servant. The partner-spell 'silence undead' damages the un-dead and instant kills your own un-dead pets in case they get unruly. :P
I'll make a hub once I get a few more systems done. Spellbooks, Ranged combat, Potions, Item Identification, Casting Spells off items just to name a few.
