Icon editor shadow in Feature Requests

Implementing this feature is not possible now or in the foreseeable future
In a lot of pixel art you need to add shadows so, I think it would be cool for there to be a shadow feature that you can add a shadow for the icon automatically.

What kind of shadows? Most likely doable yourself with a simple DM utility.

Shadows like shading darker and stuff from a simple light source like upper left or somthing but for those who dont know how to code =D.

In pixel art adding shadows is usually done manually. If you're looking for a more realistic look though, chances are you're probably using an advanced editor like Photoshop or Paint Shop Pro.

There's a line we tend to draw between features that would be helpful in most projects and features that really belong in an advanced image editor. I'd say this really falls into the latter category.

There is supposedly an engine that does 2D lighting, but its beyond me.
