How do i make clones appear in NE and NW of the user just one diagnal space away all facing the space in the middle of them
Just add one tile onto your initial mob's x and y variable, then locate the clone there.

That's not going to do what you want. Namely, it'll move the player one step to the northest, and then locate the new mob there.

What you want to use is get_step().
