Is there a more specific genre I can look up that will get me results? Searching for "survival" games usually gets me things like "dodge stuff for as long as possible" or "survive against waves of enemies/zombies". I like the wilderness survival genre where I have to use the environment to survive as long as possible by finding food, water, shelter, etc. I'd make one on BYOND, but I think I've given up on BYOND development (trying to learn JavaScript/HTML5 now).

Also: No Minecraft, no zombies, no sci-fi. Realism. The kind of game that makes me feel like Bear Grylls, minus the pee-drinking and going outside.
Outside of the aforementioned Minecraft (which is a pretty bad survival game all things considered) and the one you linked to, I can't think of any others. I'd definitely love to know of one too.
What about the stranded game on byond?
Why make another game when you can just help him with development?

Someone linked me to this game a while back:

I've been meaning to try it, but never got around to it.
There's nothing wrong with pee drinking.

Also, I don't think there is one. I was thinking a few months ago how awesome a "jungle" game would be where you start off in a randomly generated jungle and have to survive and defend yourself against the wild animals. For example, you're out there trying to set up a trap to catch a squirrel for breakfast with tree branches and leaves you're using to hold them together, but all of a sudden a vicious panther pounces on you from behind and om nom noms you to death. Or you could have just mashed the spacebar, which is the button that shrugs off enemy attacks, and use the spear you forged using a log and a sharpened stone and jabbed the thing in its back.

That type of thing.
@LordAndrew: Minecraft is okay for a survival game. You gather resources for shelter from night-time monsters and food for hunger in an infinite 3D sandbox world. I just can't enjoy it for long because of what it is.

@Boxcar: I already knew about Jittai's Stranded game when I posted this. I should have mentioned that in the body of the post instead of the description people don't see when they enter topics from the forum listing. I'll see what I can do there.

@DC: I'd actually prefer a 3D(true) game. First-person would be best. Haven and Hearth looks like the game BYOND's isometric update could have made, haha. Still, I'll check it out.

@EmpirezTeam: Yes.

If I'm lucky, Coggoid will let me make this game myself. I know what I'd like to see in the game I want, but BYOND just isn't the platform for it (or anything else I've ever made (other than Hazordhu (triple parentheses (better not forget a close-paren!)! I must be really tired!), but I didn't design it, so I didn't get to fill it with sparkles), come to think of it).

I'll just have to keep poking DerDragon to finish it instead of starting it over again, and eventually find a 3D artist.
