As many of you know Zen Hosting has been providing Dedicated BYOND Hosting to the community for two years now.

In the past we ran into problems which led to our client's resources becoming limited due to the amount of users on each server.

Recently, we have contacted our provider and now are able to provide better service. Our Virtual Private Servers are geared to have only two clients at the most. We are able to provide reliable & accurate amount of resources per user. Please take a look at the modifications to our hosting plans below.

I am using Zen Hosting currently and it is worth the investment. My game runs smooth and Zen Hosting is extremely reliable. I can step away from my computer at anytime without worrying about whether or not my game crashed. I recommend this service to all those who wish to host their game 24/7.

It is more than worth it.
I think it a idea :)
I have a question. No Zen Hosting does it actually host the game for you or does your computer act as the host? Sorry if this is a nub question, but I plan on using Zen once my game is finished and wanted to ask a few questions.
That's great to hear. When you sign up with Zen Hosting, you get an account which you Login to upload/run/close your game. Your computer does not have to be on for the game to be hosted.

The Virtual Private Servers are always running, so you should be able to access them any time.
If you have more question, feel free to ask. I Hope to hear from you soon.
While I congratulate you on your attempts to fix your service, it seems too little too late to me.

I do wonder, is that 256MB ram in your Bronze package split between two users? And why are you not including operating system memory usage in your memory specs? You're still not being upfront with users. What kind of connections are these servers running on? Disk redundancy?

Thank you, so I simply log in and I can shut my computer down? How long will the server stay up? If i get the Gold Membership about how many players will it be able hold. Am I able to shut the server down myself? Am I able to upload new files to it incase of update?

Is ATP similar to Zen?
Simply, yes, they're similar.

More complexly, no, they're not. ATP Host provides all services at cost- there is no profit involved, we work as a volunteer service to better BYOND. Because of this, our packages are cheaper than what Zen provides.

We're straight forward with our users and have quick response times. One of my favorite features of ATP Host, though, is our totally unique web panel, which you can read about at the blog I posted. With zen hosting, you need to learn about PuTTy and secure shell and FTP and a whole bunch of crap that gets in the way of hosting your games! With us, it's as simple as clicking a mouse, and you can do it from any computer with internet access in the world!

If you'd like more information, catch me on the pager, post in the ATP Host forums, or email us at [email protected]

Ahhh thank you.
Gotta love advertising on your competitions blog. Just because of that dick move (and I know it was partially fantasies fault), I'll support Zen Hosting. A dollar won't kill me.
It's a dick move to inform people about their options? It's a dick move to challenge competition?

Kanak is welcome to comment on any of my blog posts, and obviously on any of my comments here. I don't ban him from my blog, nor does he ban me from this. This is in the best interest of all BYONDers, to allow free and open discussion regarding hosting services. Never do I insult Kanak nor his services, I simply point out what I see to be flaws and this helps him as well by allowing him an opportunity to better explain his own service.

I don't care who you chose, Shadow, because it doesn't make a lick of difference to me. I don't make money on what I do, I do it so people have a fair and inexpensive choice for BYOND hosting. I don't condemn people who don't use my service, I wish them the best. Should you ever decide to switch, that'd be great. If not, enjoy your stay with Zen hosting.

I kindof agree with this though. McDonalds doesn't send someone over to burger king to talk about how their cheeseburgers are 20 cents less...So it does seem kindof like a dick move. He doesn't advertise on your blog...

Wouldn't you be glad if you went to Burger King to get a burger, but there was someone from McDonals in Burger King saying that you'll get a better burger for less money with no extra effort at McDonalds? If you answered yes, great. If not, that's fine too, stick with your Burger King- but don't shit on McDonalds.
I see nothing wrong with competition, it drives prices down and overall improves quality of service. Though I do kind of agree, it's kind of a dick move to post stuff on his blog. You have a blog Airjoe, use it! :)
I think this has happened on a couple other occasions. And I feel like it's a dick move as well.

But, I support ATP Hosting over Zen Hosting for the fact that it's all about non profit. And from what I see, Kanak is rarely online, and that leads me to wonder what if something happens to a sever and a client needed to speak to Kanak. But then I have seen Airjoe mention that ATP has quick responce times to any problems....so in my eyes that's a plus.

Tom green did something like this with a pizza...and got roughed up because of it.
I as stated before if anyone would like to know more information on the servers they can contact me and I would be glad to give them everything they need.

Like most Providers, our Servers are connected via 10-Gigabit Ethernet & 2.5Gbps (dual-path OC48/OC192) dedicated lines.

The actual RAM you will receive is the advertised RAM. (256MB/512MB/1GB )

Using Zen Hosting takes less than a minute to get your game up and running. We have full step by step instructions on how to use the service. You can reach me online or leave a support ticket. http://dbzenhosting.com
