The Times and Sample MIDI - PGR

Ok, well i found a fond interest of putting my thoughts into music through the Noteworthy program. And came up with this little number. Iunno, it's pretty easy and fun. Took like ten minutes or something to do that partial midi. Too bad the programs only a sample- but atleast i can turn this little melody into guitar, drums, or whatever later on.

And as for the times. Man, getting into college is expensive. To get into Texas Art Ins. i've got to get loans, grants, poverty grants, rewards and actually work hard. I might add the school costs 73,600 something for a bachelors degree. But i can do a poster contest on national and local level for a 5000 prize, which i plan to win- since even the examples they had shown during my tour of the school were inferior to some of the posters i do already for my friends' bands and what not.

Anyways, tell me what you think of my little test midi. Also, maybe you should try it to, it's pretty time consuming and entertaining at that.

Real Vision - PGR Basics

Well, aside from graphics- i've been trying to come up with concepts for different systems. One that's been in my attention is vision. Vision based on direction, distance, and attributes to be exact. What i've come up with is a set of 20 gradients and an idea that a light source changes its surroundings by subtracting the total light value to determine how much light is darkened. Of course this isn't original, and everyone else has already thought of it, but i'm wondering if it's logical.

I'm not sure if it would be uber laggy, and cause the game complete shutdown- or later in opacity of next version just blow up a game.

This would be the downward view, at complete darkness of night. This is set values ranging from 1-20. 21 would be black and 0 being no dither, but i didnt put it in the image. I've made a set of digits symbolizing position of different dithers, at all directions.

Oh, and this view is also basically looking over your shoulder, just to make it not so annoying. Behind you is your real blind spot. Although, as objects and enemies come around- it would be great if the objects were unidentifiable with a shady version that changes as it circles you, not too many states. And just vanishes at blind spots behind you and to ear angles. This would allow for different skills of stealth, sneak attacks, etcetera.

At different times the dither value would be reduced thus allowing even more to be clearly seen, at night- the opposite. Torches, light posts, etc would also reduce the value, and maybe add alterations in the light color itself with RGB.

Anyways, this would also be able to allow blinding of one or both eyes and reflecting that on the screen. All of this would be basically altering a few basic values of the default dither overlay.

I don't know, i just felt like posting something i was wondering about ,if this is plausable or even pointless. That's all.

Lazy - PGR

As the title suggests, i'm lazy. For my laziness, not only are the provided graphics not at the tip-top shape i could possibly make them, i'm slacking off like usual - taking lengthly breaks of doing nothing.

Anyways. Hurm. From now on i might just go to work on personal graphics that I myself find to be quality material- enough to fill a game if one was to make one, and then release it in bulk.

Should have done it in the first place, so it's not much a sense of waiting. Considering this started off as just a hobby which i was expecting to collapse in a day or two after i decided to do it.

So, i think i'll just work on "Sets" of graphics, then release them like that. I'm already slow enough as it is, which is a reason i wouldn't hold a real job if this were one to begin with- but atleast i'll be planning them out and not rushing them.

Also, go ahead and suggest anything you want- i can still read them and know what i'm missing in a game.

Well that's it basically, sucks if you've been waiting for weeks for a measly tidbit of graphics. Besides, they wouldn't have been that good anyways when i just do it because i have to.

(PS: Also, i've added a new forum section. This way you dont have to rely on just me for help. If anyone out there desires to help out with others, go ahead and submit your works to the "General" Section. This will be for anything you want. This section will contain a sub-section for posting your works for those who request them. Use any means of file hosting, like Photobucket, and post them up for those in need.)

Wish I Had a Game - PGR Guy

Well, i've been developing a game inside my head recently, i've got a few systems down, just gotta fix some bugs and then i can put it on the brain hub for everyone to think of and imagine. Hur's a mental picture of me fishing in my hardened leather, mail legs, and cloth shoes! Har har- Taste the red drum fish.

(Edit: Oh, and just for those who are wondering, no these aren't the turfs i've posted, and i might not post them. They're something i've been developing on the side- not really for everyone to have.)

|||||FILE NOT FOUND|||||

I kid. I wish it were that simple. No, i've been busy. I'm almost disappointed at how i've almost gotten nothing done graphics wise for people to use. Not only am i lazy, if this were a job, i'd be fired. Whereas i spend my free time doing what i truly love, playing games, and the rest of my time constantly getting new projects (For example a giant poster board composite with essay and speech), that's my only excuse.

If anything, i should be spending my free time learning to code. It would be much more productive.

On another note, what i have been trying to make, are turfs. Turfs are my obsession. I've been trying to get the perfect curves/bends/angles/realistic malformations/cliffs/etc. I want a perfect environment, but it seems somewhat difficult. And as many comments come about, "Hell for a mapper"

Soon, i hope, i'll get out of my lazy habbits and get to work. Really though, if this were a job i'd be homeless.

{And no, this isn't a real game. Har har.)

That's all, really. Really is, that's it. Yup that's it. Nothing more to see here. Not a thing. Ok. Bye. Later. Adios.

Small Update - PGR

Just a little update. Didn't really have much time to spend, i mean; barely any. Anyways. I made a couple of home objects, to be placed on the insides of buildings and what not. A chair, a table, and a dresser. Sorry i can't add more. I'll do some when i have the time. Man, sad how i can't even do a couple of props.

Anyways, there's also the new textures. I haven't made any blending additions to the textures. But whatever. They're better then the old ones in my opinion, so that's all that counts.

Meager, but i hope it helps.

[Yes they appear dark. But when saved and imported in DM, they get their regular contrast. God i hate PNG]
