I just finished watching it.
I give it 9.7/10
I love the show. I thought it was much better than Code Geass. I'm sure other people thinks Code Geass is the best ever, but hey, it's my opinion. The mecha could be a little bit more cool though. Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann was a bit awkward. Outofnowhere the huge thing becomes bigger than the galaxy...
But it was really cool. The ending made me sad. It was just sad. Did anybody else think that?

i hear you. thats what I thought about DBZ for years until i watched it again. Though, I admit, Bebop was way wayyyy better than DBZ but I guess I heard too much hype for my own good when I got round to watching it. 3* overall but 5* definately, for coolness.

I think I've only watched 2 animé series from before 2000 :s. Dragon Ball + DBZ (LOL). I was about to say Hajime no Ippo but I just wikipedia'd it and it's from 2000. Then I remembered Bebop which imo, wasn't as great as everyone made it out to be. And after that, I just remembered Lain. That was pretty good.
