I've been trying to bring one of my projects back off the ground lately but due to time I haven't been able to yet. So here I am creating this topic to start working on it again. Recently got back into BYOND again so I have to sharpen up and improve myself a little to get back into shape.
Been confronted with this question before: should I start doing my icons using a perspective or not?
Well here's a rough example of the perspective I'm talking about: http://www.e-lation.net/site/img/history_games/nintendo/gba/ golden_sun.jpg
And so far I've done a few attempts to create a base already, all with okay results, would like to hear your opinion:

The base on the right has slightly been done with that perspective (this is what I'm heading for). So what looks best? It may be possible that you find them both awful, but could I at least get some suggestions on this perspective I want to use?
Pointers/advice to improve either of the bases are welcome as well.
Thanks
I really do like the perspective shot you got going, and infact I agree 100% that to take the most advantage out of byond, going perspective with base/buildings and even enviroments would make byond alot better, plus if you got the gameplay to back up the graphics then it'll be a top noch game :D. perspective all the way I say, and I like the shading on the base :D. the left base looks abit flat to me, but people will probably disagree :).
I like the base alot. and keep it up ;o. but seriously go perspective. Some games that are coming out soon are getting alot better with perspective. :D
