Hello all; I haven't been on BYOND much at all in the recent years. I know BYOND is probably the best platform around for rapid Text MUD development. However I am no programmer, so I am looking for a pre-made engine with combat, inventory, character creation, saving/loading, etc etc... so that I may have the infrastructure in place to start building a MUD.

Does anyone know if such a resource exists?

Thanks all.
Thanks! Two years in a row anonymous beneficiaries have provided me with my (sadly under-utilized) BYOND membership.

I have actually been thinking about starting and maintaining a blog filled with techbits and video clips from my fancy new HD camcorder, and with the BYOND gods graciously providing me a membership, I might just take advantage of it!
I would like to be able to take a snapshot of a drive and burn it to DVD's. Then those DVD's could be given to my friend, and he would be able to drop the image onto his machine.

I'm installing Windows on his machine for him now, and I want to get everything ready on there, and want to give him "Recovery discs" he can easily boot into and drop the original image back onto the drive.

Does anyone know of some software that isn't too complicated that could produce such faux-OEM Recovery Discs? ...for my friends who always need me to install Windows on their machines?

Thanks!
I mean, are domain names controlled by the US government? Can I use an anonymous name and pay with pre-paid visas to totally protect myself, or will FBI come kicking in my door for fraud or something?
Continuation from http://www.byond.com/developer/forum/?id=522109&view=1 , from Feb '07.

Well, I had gotten a new job around October of 2007, doing Technician work. It was a nice job, however the company I'm at is pretty terrible, and now I'm being forced back into sales.

I'm desperate here: I have a lot of debt, no college degree, no MONEY for a college degree, and no time.

I don't like having to [vainly attempt to] force people to buy certain products or services, and then getting yelled at daily/hourly by management because the store hasn't hit revenue in 5+ years.

It seems like there's two choices: retail or food service. Both of which are terrible.

Am I just screwed?

Can't wait. I've been waiting for a long time now for this... Imagine if all your cell phones, PDA's, subnotebooks, and even eBook readers ran x86 instruction sets. I even heard recently the next version of the iPhone will ship with Atom. A full blown Windows, Linux, or OSX desktop on a tiny device is more-financially plausible now. Next stop after this: 32 nm!
