My APC battery backup randomly beeps loudly and then turns off then back on all the time. I can be in the middle of something when it happens, or it could happen in the middle of the night.
The PC then reboots and I lose whatever I was working on... happens sometimes multiple times a day, other times every other week.
Normal? Broken battery backup?

Have you got too much connected to it? Perhaps something is inactive and when it activates it's acting as the straw that breaks the camels back, thus triggering the alarm.
