Well, I finally started to mess around with PSe again and finished part of the opening tutorial.
There is one opening cut scene that I didn't manage to complete. So as of now, you're dumped at the spawn point. I make up for it by giving a glance at the embryonic stages of the games' combat system. and the first part of the opening tutorial.

What's missing from the combat system?
Well, the combat system is far from complete. I'm still deciding on certain aspects of it but I still need to:

-Incorporate attack graphics.
-Make enemy Pokemon 'collapse' when they faint.
-Movement? ** Please comment over this. It would only be one or two frame movement..
-Color coded health meters.
-Stat Review(check the stats of your opponent).

I'm hoping the skeleton that I have to show right now is enough for a V0.50 demo. Please bare with me. (:

What is this 'missing cut scene' you speak of?
I decided that since the game should have a light plot line, that there should be a preface witch I envision showing the player walking around a town at dusk as a human before being attacked by some sort of Pokemon. (Darkrai used Dark Void, anybody?) Cheesy, but better than dumping the player into the game with no background information.

I'm terribly uncreative with simple things like that. Haha. :p
The HP bar drains too slowly, and there should be a "next" button for the dialogue scenes rather than a timed event. Other than that there's not a lot to say, except I'm glad you opted for the classic battle system.

Just a question: will we be limited to a single Pokemon? Things could get very unbalanced otherwise.
Propppper shit yo!! Looks almost as good as a real Pokémon game. Seeing as this is just a demo, the real thing will obviously be better. Keep up the good work bud. :)

Well I've got one complaint for the demo. As you talk to NPCs the text goes by waaaay to slowly. Maybe I'm just not clicking something right, who knows.
@C_Dawg: If you're asking whether or not you can change your species during play- no.
The Pokemon you select to become from the start is the Pokemon you're stuck with.

I might end up incorporating some sort of 'bonus shop' you can visit from the menu which you can buy a new species from.


@Dino: Yeah, that's been the biggest complaint so far. I'll be sure to set it up so you hit the space bar to change the dialog.

Yeah, as others have said, HP drains out too slowly and you need some way to progress NPC interactions. I propose a macro and button for variety and ease of use.
Good Graphics bad concept, people hate being a pokemon in a pokemon game thats like the worse thing ever I doubt anyone would play it because of that.

Go away. You can only tell what you hate, not what generally people hate because you are not all of us. I like being pokemon in the game.

Just because you don't like the concept, doesn't mean nobody else will. Take Bloodstone- 30 players any given time. Not to mention that I absolutely HATE trainer games on BYOND.
