I posted this up in the classifieds, but considering I shows the "Birth of the (fake) Sazabi", I'd show the "Growth of the Psycho Gundam Mk II", which this time I am 1000% sure isn't fake *Due to unlike the last person, this one gave me constant progress reports*.

Note1: Please note TMDI said it's fine to post this type of artwork up, since this guild's really supposed to be universally about all the art types on Byond, not just pixel art (or so he said back then).

Note2: I don't know the medium, I'm assuming it's PSP or some other high quality graphical media program.

Courtesy of this work goes to Valrie, my Artist for this type of project.

What do you all think honestly.
I don't know if it's just me, but he looks kinda bull legged.

As said in it's introductory picture, it was a prototype. She never did Mecha before, so yeah, it ended up awkward. The shoulders are also way too thin (Left-right wise, they're about 1/2 as thick as they should be).

I am about to edit in a picture of the Anime-Original to show what I mean.
I love the details, but the shading looks horrible. It looks almost as if you did it with a Emboss filter or a Bevel layer style in Photoshop

Like I said, this isn't my actual work, and since it's a work in progress, I posted it here. This is my artist, Valrie's, work.

The shading will be a lot deeper in the final version of this, and the pose will be correct. Most of the details are going to be fixed, and thankfully we do got other pictures of this thing to help make this possible.
I think you should have had your artist post it personally, but oh well. The line art is pretty good, some differences with what the artist was suppose to draw, and a bit too blocky but over all pretty good.

The shading is where is it falls through. It defiantly looks like who ever did it used some kind of Bevel or Emboss tool to do the shading (as well as add that drop shadow).

It just doesn't look good, it adds to the blocky feeling, and doesn't achieve what shading is suppose to do, create the illusion of space and depth. It looks flat, with some popped up sections, but nothing to suggest a 3D form. The shading also makes it look like it's just a bunch of separate shapes placed together to form the robot, there's nothing connecting them, because of how the shading is done.

I was going to do a Monkey image edit thing to show possible ways to fix it, but avast you saved them as .JPGS (a big no no), which resulted in the quality of the image going down the drain, and would require way too much time work on cleaning it up manually. Use .png or .gif file types next time, and not .jpg!.

I will suggest that to my artist next time. And thanks for the info, I'll get that info to my artist as soon as possible. Thanks for the commentary Maggeh.
