So I was looking at MegaMan Versus' Page...

When I found this in their medals:

http://www.byond.com/games/hubmedal/1051.png

The name of said Medal is "Legendary X: He who Has Been Made Legend".

Now, I don't know how many people know this, but um... LWX (Legendary Warrior X), who is the character in that icon, is an MMW Exclusive custom. How do I know this? I am friends with Amarlaxi, AKA "Malkortia" at the time, who made that icon (I was even invited to an Icon showing of it before it was even added).

So why does MMV Have it? Anyone mind explaining what's happening here? I know Malk/Amar, and Amar wouldn't give out LWX like that.

Edit: Before anyone tells me to go ask: Overlord has me utterly blocked from contacting him, and I know no-one who plays MMV.

MMi/Project CS updates.

For those who pay attention to this site, MMi info was taken down a day or 2 ago. The reason behind this is due to a debate me and Fugsnarf had. Now that aside, now onto business.

MMi (Mega Man Infinity) will be being broken up into 2 pieces now. The first wave will be MMi 8-Bit, which will be developed first, and feature the general plan we had, but with 8-bit design. This will include a limited number of Megaman X/Z/ZX charas, as Fugsnarf will be collecting what he can of those.

After Megaman Infinity 8-Bit (Or MMi8b) is more or less done, we plan to move into making the original MMi plan MOST LIKELY (Depends on FUg's mood). The main difference would be an improvement on visual details, better SPrites (16/32 bit) and the sort. The MAIN issue will be porting over and iconning ALL those characters over, not exactly something we want to do.

With that in mind, Wheeeee!

-About Project CS and MMi for First Time Readers-

Project CS, AKA "Project Counter Strike", was a project started by BYOND's Latoma (preferred by the name Katoma) as a resolution to Mega Man War's (MMW's) horrible design traits, and has been in wait for about a year since it's original conception. Starting last last year, Fugsnarf (creator of Mega Man Files) joined onto the project with the intent of proving his abilities (and creations) were easily capable of being better than MMW and the then "Mega Man Arena" (Now "Mega Man Versus").

The Intent of the CS Project, now known as "Mega Man Infinity", or "MMi", is to generate Quality PVP Games based on the Capcom Megaman Games battle systems to play as their favorite Mega Man Characters and relieve some of the greatest battles in Mega Man History. To do this, Project CS is built on the foundation of "Taking everything Mega Man Wars did Wrong, and fixing it, and improving everything they didn't do wrong anyhow."

Project SRW News

I decided on a second SRWb Variant, purely for solo play, which I'll try to make myself. Now, here's the fun part, THE ANIME LIST OF MECHAS! (Note: This is only a planned list of what animes will appear. The stories from each anime will be intertwined in some way):

Mobile Suit Zeta Gundam
Mobile Suit Double Zeta Gundam
Mobile Suit Gundam: Char's CounterAttack
After War Gundam X
Code Geass
Turn A Gundam

(With the Reals out of the way, here comes the Supers)

New Getter Robo
Getter Robo Armageddon
Mazinger Z
Great Mazinger
Mazinkaiser
King of Braves GaoGaiGar
Tengan Toppa Gurren Lagaan
Mobile Fighter G Gundam
Masoukishin Cybuster

As you all can tell, so far the list splits into two categories even with the Reals/Supers. Those that are pre-apocalyptic (most of the Gundams), and Post-Apocalyptic (AW Gundam X, Turn A, TTGL, Getter Robo Armageddon, G Gundam).

That said, I don't feel right without a couple more Super Robo Series that take place in a post apocalyptic world. If anyone has any they'd like to suggest, please do.

Project SRW, a little change of Plans

Ok, So actually I've decided to begin the Turn Based Variant As a Test of my own abilities, otherwise it's more action based than Strategy (might as well dip my feet into the Water of a Strategy Game). In all I plan to produce 2 versions, b (Strategy) and B (Action), hence SRWb and SRWB by SRW's naming conventions (akin to SRW@ for Alpha and SRWA).

Of course, being a turn based, that means I can't make it player vs Player easily. So that means I'll need to actually scrounge around and make it a Single-player most likely, and work on improving it into a Player Vs Player type (There's 2 ways I could do this, and the latter ones are more difficult).

The Action Variant will be reserved for later, because I -actually- started the SRW coding some time ago (yes, I actually coded something). I just need to get off my rump, learn how to make those input pop-ups to instigate the test, learn how to set variables into a BIG equation. Overall the Battle system itself will be a breeze once I get those down @_@.

SRW itself has simple things used to classify damage, but what makes it complex is the scope of those variables. If I add the "Strike" and "Alert" Seishins, I'd need to change them to instead add 50% instead of Insta-Guarantee. This should make those who get Super-Robots less overpowered in comparison to reals. What I might do is leave Strike to Supers, Alert to Reals.

Since the b version will be OG-type, I will not be using Anime-Mecha, however it's not beyond a scope of reason that those in the OG-Verse could come up with similar Mecha in terms of Real Capabilities (barring the Turn A Gundam...), so I'm planning to go to the SRW forum, and see if I could pick up a PA there.

The mapping might be a problem. What I'm thinking of doing, and this is a smart idea IMHO, is that I'm going to end up with 4 Maps.

Map 1 = Earth World Map
Map 2 = Earth Battle Map
Map 3 = Space World Map
Map 4 = Space Battle Map

One thing me and a heavy SRW fan agreed on that there's too much need for Grinding in SRW to get to those fabled "Skill Points"/"Battle Masteries". This is because SRW tends to give you too little to kill too early, and it really hurts later in the game when you're forced to use your weaker units.

To solve this, you will be able to travel the World Map(s), and there will be Random Squadrons to encounter in "Story Mode" (Kinda like Enemy Mobs in the "Tales" Series. You run on the World map, an Enemy mob spawns somewhere in front of you generally, then charges at you). Details of the story will be released later, it will differ from B vastly due to B is meant to be player-made story.

The Battle Map is One massive Map. Depending where you get into a battle on the World Map, you will be assigned an appropriate portion of the Map. If PVP mode is made, Other players (and hence attacks) are naturally invisible, entering a fight is what turns invisibility off, or so the plan is (don't forget, I haven't coded before!)

That said, I am still useless without superior coders than myself. I could -probably- get the battle system coded in, and the basic battle variables. But actually getting the vars to link up to check what they're supposed to is still out of my league.

Again I would like to ask for help with Project SRW. I could use at least a Decently good Coder to help (me at the very least!), and I plan to go searching for a Good Sprite PA, so all I will probably need is a good Turf PA. The End result will probably be like SRW-W for the Nintendo DS, with a Square Grid over a Diamond Grid, but for BYOND I guess this is the best.
