Wine App DB Updated
Bug reports have been submitted, hopefully we can get BYOND stable enough in time for WINE 1.0 release. This is at least a step in the right direction, I guess all we can do is wait for some more information.
If Tom could please take a look at the bugs reported, and give them some information, that would be awesome!

Could this be helpful in solving that nasty browser bug once and for all?

Want to try Ubuntu, but don't have a CD?
An alternative method is to use the Wubi installer, but there are drawbacks to this method listed below.
We recommend booting it from a media and installing that way!
BOOT FROM REMOVABLE MEDIA:
Tools Required:
* A computer with an active internet connection and USB slot.
* A USB Jumpdrive (make sure you back up your files from the jumpdrive!)
* A ISO image file. (Must be Linux-based!)
STEPS IN WINDOWS:
1) Either use Winrar or Daemon Tools to get the files off of the CD (remember to "show hidden files!")
2) Plop the files on the root of your jumpdrive
3) Download syslinux and extract it.
http://www.kernel.org/pub/linux/utils/boot/syslinux/ syslinux-3.63.zip
4) Go into your command prompt and "cd" to the folder where you extracted syslinux.
(Vista users need to use Administrator mode.)
5) run the command "syslinux X:"
(Where X = the letter of your media.)
Then you can reboot and boot off of your storage media without having to waste a CD!

WUBI:
It's also possible to use WUBI to install Ubuntu, the only problem with this is it resides on your Windows partition, so you will not be able to format (or remove) the Windows partition without destroying Ubuntu.

We Welcome you to Ubuntu 8.04!
So you've heard a lot about it, huh? Never gotten around to trying it? Or maybe you have, but it just wasn't your cup of tea.
Well, with the release of Ubuntu Hardy Heron, we here at the Linux Guild encourage you to try it out if you haven't already. It comes in three flavours, depending on your taste in computers.
- If you want a straight deal that's easily customizable, you should go with the GNOME based distro, Ubuntu.
- If you're a person for eyecandy and looks, then you should try the KDE based distro, Kubuntu.
- If you're more of a person who prefers lightweight displays, the Xfce based distro Xubuntu is just right for you!
The best thing about Ubuntu linux, though, is that it's easy to use, and now more easy than ever! This release was designed to bring linux to the masses.
No matter what you choose to do, BYOND Linux Guild forums are available to anyone who needs help or just wishes to discuss something regarding linux.
So, with that, welcome to linux!
(In case you're wondering the timing with my writing this post: whenever Ubuntu releases are first distributed, downloads become really slow. Waiting a few days maximizes download speed.)

WINE Support - Please submit bugs!

We need people to start submitting bugs related to BYOND to the Wine Application Database.
If you could submit bugs, or even add information onto existing bugs this would be very helpfull.
Reporting bugs allow WINE to get much better support with BYOND, we just never had anyone submit any! So please, submit bugs to App DB!

(Link to BYOND's App DB page.)
Tom said he would look into the bugs if they were reported to the App DB properly.
If your reading this Tom, please contact me via email or pager.
