Ubuntu 9.10
I've installed it on my extra desktop at work. This particular desktop has an intel graphics card, which meant that 9.04 could not have any compositing enabled.
I'm happy to report that 9.10 has fixed those issues and compiz is working great. I approve of the color changes from the brown (to more of an orangish brown). Hardware detection worked for this machine without any hitches. Other than that, I haven't had much time to play around with it.
Anyone else have time to check it out?

If you haven't already, see if anyone else is having those problems and file a bug report if not. The Eee 1000HE is a pretty common model, so I imagine you are not alone. Your desktop, however, I'm not sure about. I have heard of people having issues of things working on the live CD and then not on a full install. Best I can figure is a different kernel version is used or something.
My experience with 9.10 has been golden. I haven't tried the release version for my netbook to see if the audio issue has been fixed, but I think it unlikely. I haven't filed a bug report and last time I checked neither had anyone else. Just a couple of forum posts.
When I get home, I'll take a screenshot of how I have my desktop configured. It looks really sweet with just changing the theme to another stock one, then adding GnomeDo for a dock. Ubuntu is getting good with the stock art assests. If they switched over to something like GnomeDo has their main application switcher, they would gain a lot of attention, then again, most of that attention would be Mac fanboys whining.

I've used it on my Eee 1000HE and my Desktop.
1000HE: Wireless is a bit flakey, I have to constantly reconnect to my router...
Desktop: The wired connection works on the LiveCD, but not after I install the system.

Been using it on my netbook since Alpha 5. Everything but sound works out of the box. Sound is an easy fix, you simply have to tell it what soundcard you are using in a config file because Dell did some bad naming on it's A90 as compared to the Mini9.
I put the full release on my desktop and it worked flawlessly out of the box once installed. Installing was a bit of a pain because I already had Windows 7 and Ubuntu installed, so I had to manually go in and delete the Ubuntu partition and install on the new one, rather than just saying 'replace old ubuntu' install. Besides that, works nice and clean.
