But when I do, I find an anime that has an absolutely ridiculous looking premise, watch the first episode, and find it so ridiculous I have to keep watching.
Eh, the only animes that I found worth watching were FMA, FMA: Brotherhood, and Miyazaki films. Guess I just don't like the art style.
Is it just me, or Japanese > English dub? I watch everything in Japanese, I absolutely despise English voice actors nowadays. Especially Maile Flanagan. I wanna just throw that raspy whale off a cliff somewhere.
Japanese voices sound so much better for some reason, with few exceptions. I dunno, I guess it just has to fit the art style? Though, I must say, the dubbing for FMA is FANTASTIC. Armstrong, Mustang, and Riza. They're all just perfect casting.

Mustang's voice makes my ears bleed. And Japanese villain voice actors sound so much more sinister to me than English voice actors. The only English voice actors who really stand out to me are:

Scott Menville ( Robin on Teen Titans, Lloyd from Tales series ), Yuri Lowenthal ( Sasuke, Haseo, Ben Tennyson ), Dave Fennoy ( Does several voices in Dota 2 ). IDK, I just come across more terrible English voice actors than I do terrible Japanese voice actors. One anime I'd rather listen to in English though is definitely Dragon Ball. The voice the gave Goku was just... *facepalm*

Listen to this BS: , he sounds like a weasel on bath salts.

Compare that to Sean Schemmel's sexy voice:
Thank you for at least having the sense to say that the English dub of Dragonball Z is better for Goku's voice alone.

I usually get annoyed at people that can't like English dubs because of how pissy they get at voices that, to me, sound perfectly fine. I generally let them go on and like what they like and dislike what they dislike. Everyone has their tastes. However, if someone tries to justify that the Japanese voice for Goku is better than the English, I have to start questioning if they have a functioning brain or not.
Netflix showed me Heaven's Lost Property (Sora no Otoshimono), and after I watch the anime (and the accompanying movie that covered an arc following the anime), I was coincidentally just joining the series as it began to end (manga). That happens with a lot of series I get into (Gantz, Deadman Wonderland, etc).
Anyone that says Midori's voice in Midori days is fine needs to be shot in both ears.
