Okay, it's like this. I really really want to play an awesome multiplayer snowball fight game, where you and all the other players (maybe AIs too) are kids in the snow. So I'm holding a short-term contest to come up with the most awesome game possible on short notice. The top three entries each win a year's membership, on me.
Deadline: January 15, 2008
Required elements:
- Easy snowball fights! It has to be easy to throw a snowball (no mouse clicking required).
- Snow forts/barricades. Players should be able to build walls to use as cover, and also to break down those walls.
- Scenery. Simple trees, rocks. It doesn't have to be fancy.
- Sound effects.
- Simple keyboard interface. No verbs, no clicking, just macros.
Things that would be cool (not required):
- Autojoining walls for the fort
- Falling snow overlay
- Patches of ice
- Using ice or freezing water for devastating iceballs
- Snowmen -- perhaps to use as automated fort guards or something
BYOND 3.5 support is not required. I'd actually prefer the game to be built using 4.0 because that means a better interface and better macros, but this is not required either. Do what works best for you.
To officially submit your game, just post a comment to this thread with a link to the hub entry. Entries will be judged on overall fun and on quality of the graphics and sound. The game must be downloadable in order to be judged. Source code is not needed.
If you need sound effects, try out the program presented by Gughunter here. It's awesome.
