Well it's my first post in some time, but thats just the way it goes.

I have returned to the Iraqi desert once again. The weather here is much like it is back home in Texas, only less humid. Although I suppose that makes it even more barrable.

Only to add to the awesomeness, I logged in to byond and there sat my game online. Talk about a supprise. I really should get off my lazy ass and work on it. Perhaps when I get done with my college application. Perhaps.

Well, thats all the time I have for now. But I'll be back before too very long.

An exercise in bigotry.

Okay, I don't know how many of you out there play WoW too, but I have like 7 characters on 2 different servers, one of them happens to be a female blood elf, and yes I am a man playing a female character. But thats not the story here, well not really.

I ran across this poor soul who was running around the ruins of silvermoon city without pants on. From the very beginning I was nothing but kind and helpful, going so far as to buy her some pants out of my own pocket and give them to her. Then I went about teaching her how to play the game from scratch. How to equip things, find and complete quests, arrange the hot keys. Pretty much how to play the whole damn game right. Well after about 3 or 4 hours of running with her and showing her around she found out that that I was a man running a female character and smooth flipped out on me. Dropped me from her in game friends list, called me a cross dressing gay man and generally berated me for the next 5 minutes.

Now I understand that it's not the most normal thing in the world to run around on video games playing opposite gender characters, but the lengths that this woman went to are just bewildering and infuriating. To treat someone like that after everything I had done for her, I... I don't have words to describe how I feel about it.

I'm not trying to defend the fact that of my 6-7 characters about half of them are female. I don't really care what you have to say about that, I am just a pissed of man who needs to rant because I don't have anything nearby to hit, HARD.

And thats all I really have to say for now.

Wow, I can't believe that Final Frailties actually has more than 1000 downloads. It took a long time to get this far and I fell really proud of it. Granted I haven't worked on it in a while now, but never fear and stuff like that.

In other news I am still drawing and getting better at it all the time. I am starting character sketches for a Final Fantasy 6 webcomic based around Celes Chere before she was branded a traitor by the Empire. It should turn out pretty well If I can get a decent script cobbled together. Well here's hoping right.

I just spent the better part of 3 hours rereading some of my very first posts on what used to be Newbie Central, long since changed to Developer How To. And it would certainly appear that I was both a sarcastic ass, and prone to making a series of mindbogglingly similar mistakes almost back to back.
But that was some four years ago now, almost 5 (Man I just realized that I am older than I like to give myself credit for being ( Yes I know that 24 ish is still young, but we all have to realize it for the first time some time right.).). I would like to think that in the mean time even though my maturing as a person has been slightly behind schedule, my growth into a competent artist across several mediums has proceeded at a decent rate.
At this time I would like to thank Crispy, Lummox JR, Foomer, Shadowdarke, Hedgemistress the lesbian assassin, and the rest of you who I can't quite remember for all of your patience and mental fortitude. You folks are directly responsible for me being as proficient at my work as I am today.

Here is something I just finished a few minutes ago.

This is a doodle of Vironica acting completely against character and getting dressed up all fancy formal. Enjoy it while it lasts, because before long she is back into more comfortable boxers and a tee-shirt with a bottle of beer.

I figured I should post it before I left for the field for a month.

I figure seven months is a long enough time to keep you waiting.

Wow, I can hardly believe that it's been seven months since the last time I got around to posting on my byond site.

How have all of you folks been?

I really haven't been up to much of anything worth posting about lately, just busy doing some army training or another.

Back in July I finally got my hands on a wacom tablet like I've been wanting for years now. Some four months later I have finally produced some art thats good enough to share with the rest of you good folks.

That's Sam if you don't know or remember, eventually I will get around to getting my laptop to my desktop and copying over the proper pallets and color schemes. Still it's not to bad a color job from memory. And I have to admit that the gimp is a decent program for graphical work. But its still no photoshop 5.5 when it comes to byond pixel work.

Other than that I have been learning to play the guitar, it's coming along slowly, but it is getting somewhere eventually.

I won the $200 contest for the original game design by default since NO ONE ELSE entered. What the hell people? What the hell. Sadly I didn't win the cash prize since there was no actual competition. And I didn't even get to the coding part of the contest, just the story submission.

On a different subject, has anyone else seen the music video for Serj Tanken's song "Empty Walls"? It is a truly disturbing bit of social commentary wrapped up in a well done system of a down song. I highly recommend it.

I just can't get motivated to do anything, haven't been able to all week. I know the crap I need to do for my game, I just can't get into doing it right now. Hell I'm even having a hard time drawing anything.

It should pass soon, but damn it sucks atm.

I can't tell you good folks how completly awesome that is. And on top of that Final Frailties has been accepted into the byondrpg guild, yayness. Tomorrow I have to wake up and go running, but thats not for almost 4 more hours. So yeah.

Holy crap on a cracker

Howdy folks, I know it's been a while since I have posted. You know busy doin army crap and all that.

Anyway, for 2 points who knows what an abcessed nose looks like? Think Rudolph on crack. My nose was/is bright red, tender to the touch, and full of pus. Good times I know right. Well today went to the doctor for it, have you ever had the special kind of fun that is a lydacane injection into your septum? Pray you never have to. After they failed to numb me up. (Lydacane doesn't work well in areas where pus is present) The lanced and drained my nose, which is to say that a mad woman in a doctors gown squeezed on my schnoz for 30-45 minutes of excruciating pain. I was clenching my fists so hard than when she was done my hands shook and spazamed open/close for a good 10 minutes.

So yeah thats how my morning went, how about you?
