Okay, I'm not real worried about my wording in this post considering it is very likely to get removed. Along with the rest of the posts against BYOND.

If you didn't know the story i'll recap it as fair as I possinly can, then state my opinion:

Neblin, a BYOND Member, subscriber of Silkwizards NEStalgia, and an advertiser of BYOND. Recently was banned from NEStalgia with no reason to him.

He made a post on BYOND warning people that Silkwizard bans players(even subscribers) who get on his badside for no reason.
I myself am banned from NEStalgia, no idea why.

I've read his BYOND Post; it does not at all outright insult anybody or any one group. This post was then removed from the BYOND front page without any reason to Neblim.
See a trend here..?

Neblim then made a second post asking the BYOND Moderation why of which his post was removed. Then his second post was removed.

This sent the BYOND Community into an outrage, saying "Why does Silk get to unsult while we cannot voice our honest opinion?". Don't get me wrong, there were people for BYOND aswell, "BYOND has the right to do whatever in the hell it wants" etc.

Masterdan in this outrage has decided to completely stop supporting BYOND. Neblim has done the same.

There are plenty of posts going on about now on the Blog page for both sides.

Now this is my opinion and my sole opinion alone:

I think that the blog posts should be treated FAIRLY. I've read plenty of Silkwizards blog posts where he outright insults players. This is somehow okay with the BYOND Admins.

Neblins Blog post should have not been hidden and should be brought back up.

I'm sure if the Admins simply said sorry and put his post back up everything would go back to its normal boring self.

DM is a great tool and I have great respect for Dan, Tom, Lummox JR, and the other creators of the system. But you guys seriously need to keep your admins under check.

Here are the links if anybody is intrested:

Feel free to comment your opinion below.

This is a good summary of the situation (which I am just discovering now after a sick-leave of sorts). I will state my opinions in this thread shortly. In the meantime, to avoid filling the front page with multiple posts on the same topic, those will be hidden, with a note to direct here.

I would highly recommend not hiding those posts, but rather have the comments locked out with your motion to redirect as the last comment.
I am hiding them because they are filling the entire front page with the same topic, which is unnecessary.
Are you going to do the same thing the next time the member page is full of posts on the same game, ala NEStalgia or whatever else?
Tom, BYOND needs transparent and communicative moderation, a strong and positive attitude toward customers from the top levels (including the other gurus) and an overhaul in the way in which moderation is employed (as we have talked about previously) so that there can be more effective moderation in areas that have too little (hubs) and better and fairly executed moderation on the public blog listing.

Moderation bias is starting to cause a lot of anger in this community (myself especially).
lol... You can feel the air crackle. These are stiff days! Haha *sigh* I find all this comical.
If all the posts are saying the same thing, yeah, I think it does make sense to center the discussion in a single location. If people want to call me a Nazi or whatever for hiding a few posts, fine, but it's really in the interest of practicality at this point.

I would be _extremely_ careful with that assessment. If you read some of the comments on some of these threads, there are real and substantive actions that will and are happening because of recent moderator activity.

Again, I highly recommend not hiding the posts and just lock out the comments after your motion to redirect.

I'm not calling you a nazi or anything of the sort. I just think it's unnecessary to hide everyone's point of view on the member's page, when all you really want to do is direct discussion of it over to this post; you can accomplish that by locking out comments after your redirection.

If they get to voice their opinion(here) i'm sure they wouldn't be too upset. Though I may be wrong...

I love that BYOND commentary and discussion on the front page is unnecessary, but the average "derp i went to school today" and "i got a new cat!11" posts aren't.
I'd have to agree with Bootyboy on that one, Its not like the front page holds posts for very long either way, And it would save people from saying things others may have already said.
All I'm saying is to post your thoughts here so we can contain discussion to one thread instead of having many posts on the front page discussing the same thing. That way people don't have to bounce around. If it is really a huge issue I can unhide stuff, but I think it's only an issue with the original posters so hopefully they'll see what I'm getting at here. Anyway, I'm writing up my opinions on the matter now...

Thats one of the reasons why I posted all the links I could find on this post. So people could read whats already been said.
As a side note, Tom. You might want to front page suppress Tiberath's smart-ass post.
Done. Thanks for understanding, guys.
Boil this down to something simple:

Neblim is a consumer warning potential consumers about a product. Because an arbitrary item in a ToS was used -- and in his opinion to an extent where a generally accepted "unspoken" agreement was violated -- he is warning others of the danger of engaging in any activity which requires trust with the offending party.

I would add that his thoughts are not isolated. I'll expand if needed.
There is nothing to be upset about if the defacto owner of BYOND is responding directly to everybody's concerns.

You forgot the part where he employed mindless name-calling
