So Flame Sage and I decided to make a messenger that acts like Yahoo Messenger (or MSN for that matter). We've implemented chat rooms thus far, and we're using output controls instead of grids. It looks really nice I think, and I love the palette I used for the colors of the messenger.

It's written completely in DM and uses simplistic commands and features. I think that I'll be working on this for a good while making sure that the functionality and bugs are all ironed out.

Also there's a bit of a backstory on how the beginning of developing this came to be.

Edreoll is under works too. I've been working on the editor for that a couple of days ago. It will use custom files for loading maps, items, etc instead of relying directly on datum types like "/obj/item/equipment/sword1".

Nadrew's Ncom Messenger.
I like it!
Why not just use MSN or Yahoo Messenger? Is there a special feature in this that Yahoo Messenger or MSN doesn't have it?
Yeah. All BYOND users can use this without having to download anything else. Some people do not favor other messengers when using BYOND.
...I'd rather keep what I have and not download this extra thing.
I think its useful because this doesn't use as much RAM as the messengers would. Assuming you have a crappy desktop.
Ive been thinking about doing something like this for a while. Seems you beat me to it. Lol. I hope everything goes well seeing as its looking good! =3

Very True, I mean a lot of my friends on BYOND have messenger but their are those ones who don't and refuse to do so cause they can't download stuff, this will defiantly come in handy and the only reason I have Windows Live Messenger is to talk to my friends on BYOND.

Anyways how about the folks on Mac? Me personally I have an IMac with windows 7 bootcamp, but when I'm on mac os x side I can still talk my friends with windows live messenger for mac(which really sucks but gets the job done) you should find a way to make this game usable on the mac, even though BYOND is not supported on Mac.
I could probably add Telnet support later on. Or, possibly make a lite version of the messenger that works outside of BYOND, but still communicates with the server in some way. I don't know.

You wrote mac so many times lol
But isn't Nadrew's new program... nevermind. Chat programs are impossible to keep up with.
