More symbols in text mode. in Developer Help

Recently I have been messing with text mode, in which objects appear as symbols instead of icons. However, it doesn't support some characters. I have been trying to get around this limitation for quite a while, but nothing I try works. Is there a way to increase the number of usable symbols or will I have to work with what I have now?

There's currently no way to alter what character set is used in text mode. You're stuck with what it gives you, and last I heard there's very little in the ways of developing text mode; so it might be that way from now on.
