I haven't had any complaints about lag except when the Booster Berry (a.k.a. Lag Berry) is used. But that's only temporary.

If you aren't familiar with Harvest Moon: Trinity Ranch, by WildBlood, it's a fan-made game based on the Harvest Moon games.
The gameplay is pretty great and simplistic once you get the hang of it.
The graphics are like the older GBA HM Games.
