Minecraft SMP in Off Topic

Now that Notch has finally added health, I figure it's about time to post yet again about the Mazcraft server.

I've updated the server with he latest build, and patched it with lhamacraft, and will be including runecraft once that is updated to work with the current build.

You can find the Mazcraft website here.

There's a couple of texture packs I included on the website with screen-shots that you can download and try, if you feel like adding modifications to these to update them, feel free.

The server currently has PVP enabled, as well as all monsters/animals. However, I'll disable PVP if we end up beating the crap out of each-other too often accidentally.

Finally, for those of you that like to mod your minecraft, I highly recommend Zan's Minimap Mod. It really helps give you more sense of direction in the game, you can find the main page here.

So far, 2 people from BYOND have joined, the first person came in and played for a bit, then left. The second person, felt the need to make themselves a bucket, and to torch everything we've created and bury it in lava. Congratulations Quaddw. I left the anti-grief bullshit off because I wanted to give the players more freedom over the game. Now we all know how mature you are. Enjoy playing on another server.

That's really unfortunate. I would join your server but I don't have Minecraft! Sorry to hear about the griefin' though.

I've been running this server for a little over a month now with a dozen or so players. I keep the anti-grief off because it limits the use of really important items like the flint and stone, and completely ruins the way lava/water flows by making it so the lava/water from buckets don't flow at all. I've yet to have any problems that weren't accidental(fire spreads like crazy and is hard to put out). It's kind of funny how you can run a game for so long without any problems, then one asshole decides that he has absolutely nothing better to do with his time than to ruin things for other people. The sad thing is that all he cost me was about a minute of my time to restore the map. He went to all the trouble of making himself look like an idiot for absolutely nothing.

Damn it, I was hoping to find a decent Minecraft server without so many stupid restrictions, but the server is down..

It seemed to had grieved you, and that's usually the point.

Mikau had a backup of the map ready to go, so fixing things wasn't really a problem. It's more like we're surprised someone would come in to grief the server so quickly.
