Holy crap indeed. Left for Dead 2 is on sale right now for the next 20 hours, for $10. That's right, $10.20 for the game on Steam. That's 1/3rd the price that I paid for my copy.

Audiosurf is $2.50 right now, which is a pretty good deal if you feel like playing a mediocre guitar hero racing knockoff. (that's right)

As well as Star Wars: The Force Unleashed being $7.49. I've never played it, but I've heard good things.

Check out the front page for the rest of the deals.
The Force Unleashed is fun for a once through. Beyond that it's not so great.
Rarely is there been a sadder time for a gamer to be broke than a massive Steam sale.

Story of my life. I always have money when nothing is on sale, then when I'm broke, they have 10 sales in a row.
Well, if you quit buying things when they aren't on sale you might be able to retain funds for future sales.
I just about always buy my games when they're on sale... but I didn't expect them to have an even bigger sale!

For example, I bought Darwinia and Multiwinia as part of a discount pack. I think it was something like $15 for both games. $7.50 a game, not bad, right? Right now, Steam is having an "Introversion Complete Pack" on sale that has Darwinia, Multiwinia, Defcon, and Uplink... all in one package for $5.00. Well, shoot, somebody get Steam on the phone to refund me $10 and throw in a couple more games.

Good God, if I had ~$15 right now I could buy the entire Star Wolves series, including one that was just released a few months ago. (Granted, the reviews of that series aren't that great, but the particular take to the genre interests me.)

Star Wars: The Force Unleashed and Supreme Commander 2... okay, maybe neither of these games were that great, but at $7.50 a piece, they're certainly tempting enough!

Some of those packages are nuts. The THQ Complete Pack: $50 for 20 games... a $339.81 savings when most of the titles are already discounted. This sale is vicious! It's like the flippin' PC gaming industry is collapsing! Of course, it's mostly the bargain bin fodder... but that's mostly what the PC gaming industry is made up of at this point.

Some people pay bills.
