It would be nice if there was a means of separating the messaging and hub reporting functions of the pager. This would let us not receive messages (and appear online on the friend list, or perhaps a 'No Messages' status), while still reporting our location to the hub.

I've had my pager off for years because I prefer not to be contacted over the pager, but I'd like to be shown as online from the hub, so people at least know I'm there.

The Private status of the pager doesn't report to the hub, so it's not an option either. It also doesn't prevent all messages.
