X-Box 360, PS3, or Revolution? in Off Topic

Yeah its time for another one of these. Make predictions, this is more of a poll than a flame war or something.

I don't think the 360 will do as good as the Xbox did, it just doesnt seem like that big of an upgrade. that one game they showed at E3 with the desert looked graphically equivlant to one of the new DOA cutscenes. Price hasn't been said yet, but its probaly going to not be that cheap. EDIT: Also forgot to point out 360 will have limited backwards compatibility.

Okay now PS3. Its said to be retailed at $399, but its supposed to have amazing graphics, and it looks like it does. Does anyone know if killzone was real time or not? Anyways, this probaly wont do that good at start, but it will if the price drops. And it will, sony is retarded if it doesn't. >_>

Revolution looks promising even though no game has been shown. Downloadable games have been annaounced (Edit: has been said to cost money). Little has been shown as the graphics are said to "wow" you. Price will probaly be cheaper and online has been said to be out of the box, along with a rumored "new online SSBM game." The revolution looks promising overall But Nintendo is being just a bit too mysterious.

Predictions: Sony and Nintendo will be again neck and neck while 360 has moderate success.

Incorrect. The president of marketing was quoted later as saying they have no intention of giving the games away for free.

I'm gonna have to go with Revolution(I am a fan boy I guess). But the downloads will cost money, not alot though. Although I wish Nintendo had a couple more mature titles, I'm glad they aren't flooded with them to the point where every game you play has gore. As long as they stick to their formula, and not try to use the same tactics as the other 2 companies to attract gamers, they will be successful in the end, selling more just like the DS is over the PSP.

no, it was just released a couple days ago that the games will cost money except at certain locations in Japan.

And i'm gonna have to go with the 360 because it's gonna cost less and there are going to be great games for it (Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion, Gears of War, Halo 3, etc.)

I personally will be far too broke to afford any by the time any are released, though rest assured that I will go with the Xbox 360. I don't believe a single word the Sony marketting machine make, as with the PS2 it will be pure hyperbole, Microsoft is no-where are bad.

The revolution I will pick up once the price has dropped. Lately I've been enjoying lots of joyful bongo'ing thanks to Donkey Konga and two sets of bongos. That game is pure nintendo quality and innovation that will keep them in the game.

Lol Halo 3 is laughable...when it shows up on Ign, or the actual halo site, is when you can believe its even -in the works-, till then its just false pretense to buy a '360. PS3 trumps 360 in raw power, and Revolution is in the shadows still so they can't say anything.

I do believe though that xbox has the online thing squared away more than Sony. They are seeking to expand their player base, and its definitely promising.

Nintendo is once again in the rear but they always have the best trick in the bag-not the most expensive or the one everyone knows about, but the rarest and most simple in beauty.

PS3 = power = $$$ = say hello to a major change in your home entertainment system -Or- a flop. Mainly because they rely on the new Blueray technology for games. If it gets supported alot it will be awesome (because they hold 6 or 7 times data of a current dual-layer dvd disc).

If revolution truly does have an online SSB, it will reign supreme.

Id like to point out the system specs are only rumors for the Nintendo Revolution right now. The fact is, when it comes out, it could be just as powerful, maybe even more so then the Revolution.

With backwards compatability to the gamecube, and even games from the late 80's and early 90's its going to be a heavy competitor. Id more then willing pay $2 or maybe a bit more to download Mario Bros 3. ;)

Never cared for Xbox, and I feel they let their game licesening go wild. I mean, I had little respect for the Xbox before, but when they had games out like the Guy Game, and Playboy the Mansion, I had even less respect. A good game dosent need sex or voilcen to sell and Nintendo has proven that.

Not only that, if you compair the Sony PSP, to the DS, the sales are in favor of the PSP. Toss in Nintendo's sales of the Nintendo GBA, and Nintendo beats Sony by over 30,000 sales.

That, and the Gameboy Micro will be out later this year, and the Gameboy Evolation out at the end of this year/next year, Nintendo is far from out of the picture.

Actually I heard DS has the upperhand..0_0 But technically, that only accounts for Japan. Ps3 may sell okay, but for every system they sell, they lose money.

Actully Nintendo has the upper hand in Japan, Sony had the upper Hand in Amercia, that is unless you count both sales of GBA and DS. ;)

I own both systems so I hope both do well.

Well, the DS suffers from the lack of games. It does work with GameBoy advanced games, but not old game boy games. I have not handled the PSP yet. I still don't see why they don't make these things capiable of surfing the net. They give them 802.11 connections, but god forbid they go onto the internet.

Both the Sony PSP and the Nintendo DS can go online, it just requires a bit of hackery, so to speak [its not really hackery IMO, but I can't think of a better word]

And I think both the Sony PSP AND DS suffer lack of games, both their libraries suck eggs.

Yep. So far though, no game on either system has been "outstanding" just average(Okay game, not bad or good). But its slowly becoming the 3rd quarter in which the good stuff starts to come out. I'm lookin forward to about 4+ DS games by the end of this year.

This is pretty much all I remember from their advertisments was that they were boasting about their graphics and nothing else. Which kinda kills any interest I might have in any of Microsofts consoles.

Seriously graphics don't matter much. GTA San Andreas is awsome despite it not being as visually impressive as many other games released at the same time. The problem with the sony consoles is that they have very few exclusive titles none of which I've cared to get.

Maybe they don't need the hype since they have great games which don't need it :P? Nintendo is the only console company that puts out very interesting and innovative games. Which despite peoples whining are not intended for just kids rather they are built such that anyone can pick them up and have fun wtih them. People that need violence and sex in a game to have fun are probably too shallow to recognize good gameplay anyway and should stick with their XBoxes :P. However I'm going to wait awhile before considering even buying the revolution if I do. While the games I got for the GameCube were fun most of them I didn't end up playing more than a video game rental or twos worth.

So I'll just stick with PC. Despite PC games not selling as much as console PC games tend to keep me busy longer before I've had enough of them.

The 360 press conference makes me laugh. They stated that HD-tv compatibility is a new requirement when the HD-tv doesn't seem like a requirement itself.
