This information all comes from WiiNewz, who specialize in news/information regarding the wii scene. They are very creditable/trustable site.

Quote:
The June 16th update has been reported to delete Twilight Hack, however, it does not seem to do anything to the Homebew Channel yet.

Users are advised not to update until more information is known.
Un-modded homebrew is temporarily dead and, even on modded consoles. any disc signed with Trucha will also no longer function after this update.
UPDATE from Bushing...
Quote:
It’s interesting to look at the timestamps here. The System Menu has a build marker of “systemmenu.rvl.0803060727″ – yes, that’s March 6, 2008, 07:27. This update to the menu only accomplished one thing, as far as I can tell — the blocking of the TP hack. (I guess we can count the IOS30 patch together with it.) They spent 3 months testing it — this isn’t actually that surprising, when you consider the potential financial damage if they roll an update out that bricks Wiis.

Congrats to tmbinc and tehpola for finding a combination of two bugs in the code that Nintendo added that — when combined — allow us to fool their check into ignoring the TP hack. More info will be forthcoming — I still wouldn’t rush to update my system, anyway.

This still leaves the issue of how to deal with IOS30; there are several different ways to deal with this — some of which have already been released by people — and we’ll need to take some time to decide on the best one to use and test it thoroughly. There’s no urgency here, no need to rush into something.

So it was Hulk day for me today.
So before i went to see Hulk i was expecting some pure action mayhem...did i get what i wanted?
I certainly did. And my god was it awesome. Pure action to its limits. Loved it completely.
However, what the fudge is romance doing in hulk? I was literally "wtf-ing" in the cinema. I wanted to see more hulk screems and stuff -you know get in the hulk madness.
However, the love stuff did have some funny moments so it wasn't that bad.
A few of my relatives and friends complained about the CG, but i thought it was well presented. I didn't expect 100% awesomeness of the hulk graphically, but the detail was great, the facial expressions were spot on. It definitely made you feel like you were watching a true hulk in real life.
The guns, vehicles and machinery altogether were stunning.
The boss fights weren't too great...maybe because of the build up to the battle was pretty boring and vague. Nevertheless it was a pleasant to watch. There are several references to ironman, shield and other marvel like things so make sure you look out for them.
If you are hardcore action fan, or marvel fan or just someone that wants something good to watch, i suggest you go see Hulk in action.

Just so you guys don't waste time, don't bother waiting after the credits, there is nothing there...:[
So i've been working on GEARs' interface for the last few days. And i started off with a 800x600 window size since someone said it was most preferred. However, yesterday in chatters everyone was like 1280x720 is the normal.

Keeth didn't seem to like my interface because it literally is a background image and the games interface window is not resizable. However, i could make ti resizable but i'll have to adjuust the background's image to like a 300 resolution. I was wondering if you could keep the window size and adjust/resize to a certain ratio, or is that not possible yet?

If it isn't what window size would you guys want?
So, GEARS is basically two separate game play modes in a way. There is a single player mode which is basically the introduction of what your Cog can do. You also learn the history behind the cog and your goal(s) are. The single player campaign is mostly quests and puzzles.

Now, the second half of the game is Multi-player. Since the game -needs- you to collaborate with other players or just torture them until they obey you to "complete" your cog and merging the remnants.

I am stuck as to how i should bring together these modes. Should i mix single player and multi-player both in one server. Or have two separate servers?

Or do you guys have a totally different approach? Comment away.

Chapter One - Run Away
You wake up from bed hearing destructive noises.
"Elder Ophir" - The wise elder (basically someone who has taught and looked after you for years), tells you that the village is under attack by the "Arsenios Philon" Army (Arsenios Philon's army. Arsenios is the toughest bad guy of the game who controls the 3 beasts).
Elder Ophir tells you to go through a back door into the wilds. He hands you a back pack and a wooden sword. He tells you to head for the "Ancient Caves". However, while you are heading to the caves wild monsters attack you. You make it to the cave eventually and come across three passages. Each door way has some symbolic object. Example, the first door has torches lit (signifying fire), the second door has a stream if water running over it (means water etc) etc. So you choose one door and the next chapter begins.

Chapter Two - The Cog Box
So you've just entered through your desired doorway and you come to a huge maze. You have to finish the maze and exit. Once you've finished the maze you walk a bit more and find a treasure box. You open it and find a rusty old cog. You wonder what it is, but nevertheless you take it with you.
Suddenly, the cave starts shaking. At first you see no exit but because of the violent shaking you see a passage way. You follow this passage which runs through high fields of grass, streams and monsters...you finally reach the end and collapse.

Chapter Three - The Return to Nothing
You regain consciousness and see that your homeland - Woodbridge is nothing but debris, filled with corpses and crushed trees and buildings. You notice that there is one small hut that hasn't been crushed. You walk down to the hut and enter.
You approach a strange old lady who offers you some water and food. She then tells you what happened and who Philon is. She also notices a cog in your back pack. She asks you where you found it and you reply the ancient cave. She then asks you to go on an errand and find some vegetables for dinner in the mountains.

Chapter Four - Woodbridge Mountains
You walk up the mountains encountering many monsters who are strong and weak. You come to the peak of the mountain and find a certain vegetable the women asked for. However, you notice a small temple to your right. You feel curious and decide to have a look. So you've entered the temple and the only light source is from the holes in the temples roof. You then come to this sort of -podium looking stand. And you find some old scriptures which you don't understand. At that moment you hear strange beastly noises and decide to leave. You return back to the old womens hut and show her the scripture you just found. She tells you that there is a man who can decipher anything. However, he lives outside of Woodbridge in a remote village called Richmond Hill. The old woman advises you to go there and find out more about this cog you have. You rest up for the night and embark for Richmond Hill

Hi guys,

If you keep up with my blog posts you may have noticed that i haven't posted any updates on Fray Adventure. Well the main reason is that i am far too busy to actually spend time on it...However, from June 4th i shall be constantly be working on GEARS.

Now you maybe wondering what GEARS is...
Well it is Fray Adventure (graphically) but i decided to change the concept of it.

Some may say it is too generic but i don't mind. So here is how it lays out:

There are three types of fighters/characters -Fire, Water and Earth. Now, in order to determine which element you are you have to find a cog. I won't tell you just yet how to get a hold of a cog but once you get one it can be fused with any object including weapons/ environments etc.

Throughout the game you will need to fuse your cog with your surroundings and objects in order to progress. You will also need other cog elements to help you. And you can only use one cog throughout the game (So yes, you will need to cooperate with other players or threaten them).

Your cog has three stages of evolution. And it's evolution depends on how strong the player is. Your cog would also need remnants of 5 huge bosses. And in order to beat those five you need to shatter their "shield" and that can only be done when three cog element attacks are used. So, for example, you can slash the boss with a fire sword and then attack him with a blast of water and finally hurl rocks at him. Once his shield breaks its every man for himself. Whoever gives the final blow claims the remnant. But during this time your ex-companions can also kill you to steal the remnant. Your main objective is to 'complete' your cog and restore order/peace to the island or create havoc.

I'll give more details once i do a little bit more work on it.
