I haven't posted anything on my blog in quite a bit, so, hey again people!

Toy Tanks is still in development, but at the moment t's only bug-testing for Beta. I'm trying to work out a few really really REALLY annoying bugs because they happen online when we're testing things but when we're offline the game functions perfectly. Argh, argh, argh.

Anyway, Toy Tanks is almost complete, but because of that I've been looking for a new BYOND project to work on, and I've tried making a few little things like little turn-based strategy games and whatnot and none of them have stayed as fun as Toy Tanks or Turtle Towers or any of my other games. And I'm really kinda sad about that, because I have really good intentions but I can't seem to stay focused on a project. I have no idea how I've finished Turtle Towers and basically finished Toy Tanks with this problem.

It all started when my original development team fell apart, it was me, Nategrant who was a programmer, and Zethmal who was a pixel artist. We all knew each-other in real life and we all had labtops, so it was really easy to connect and share information at any location. And, I guess I miss that. Ever since that time I've had "development groups" composed of people that say they want to help and can "program" or "icon", and they do one of two things to "help" the project along. They either A: Completely alienate me and simply leave me alone with the project and log on two months later after doing absolutely nothing and become angry that the project hadn't gone anywhere OR B: Is completely technologically disinclined and basically lied to me about being able to "program" or "icon" and become utterly useless and then proceed to do exactly what the people in option A had done.

...*sigh* I miss the old days.
If anyone wants to join a development group with me and create BYOND projects, contact me in this post or add me on Skype (gary.bethlehem) or on BYOND pager. ):

What do you find "cool" about this post, if I may ask.
What kind of people are you looking for, exactly?
I'd Help. :)

To be honest, I'm looking for anyone that is able to do what they say they can and actually follow through with it. Programmers, pixel artists, heck even skinners if you can do that sort of thing well, anyone! I don't look for people that say "I can make up cool ideas" because although that is a skill, it is relatively easy.

But seriously, bare minimum: Willing to donate some time to a group of people also willing to do the same and you have to have some aspect of the BYOND engine at least partially mastered, enough so that I don't have to hold you hand through ever single thing that needs to be done.

It also helps to have DropBox and Skype with a microphone, just eases the process of sharing and communicating.

That would be really nice. If you want to know what I'm looking for, read my reply to Duelmaster409's comment.
I Program , and ALL I do on BYOND is make games 24/7 and never release or show them cause there's nothing fun to do. :/

I will Code For you. :)
I also have Skype with a mic :P

If you're genuinely interested just BYOND page me your skype or add mine. "gary.bethlehem"
I thought it was cool that your actually asking for help, which isn't exactly rare for you, but fun to see.

I can't contribute much, but if you need a mapper or a forum, I can help with that.
Point me at a project and say make it better. I can't commit to anything due to my own work load but I can toil and tweak like nobody's business. :)

Seriously, point me at a project and I will find something I think I can improve and will do it and hand it over. I geek out on details.

In this manner, it's not work, it's just fun.

Yes, but I wouldn't want to detract from your time on Nomadic. I really can't wait for that game. If it is what it looks like I might even make a video or two on it. (:

*Slaps you with a glove*

-.- Don't insult game designers, buster. Especially those who carry their weight.

I'm not insulting them. I'm just saying that I don't need them because they are the most likely to leave me and I can usually do the job fine myself.
Hey, I might be interested in helping you provided I'd be allowed to program? Only thing I really could do(and not very well XD).
Well of course!
DropBox is actually pretty good with having two people program at once.
If you'd like to join the team just shoot me a page! (:
I'm curious to hear about any experiences involving multi-user projects with DropBox. How did you manage concurrent changes?
You just need to keep in communication.
Work on things with DropBox's auto-update off, and when you're ready to sync make sure the other person has their DropBox updated and then tell them which files you changed and turn on your auto-update.
Between F0lak and I, it worked out really well.

Even if you do make a mistake and overwrite something it saves a copy of the overwritten document, just with a different name. (ie Gary's overwritten copy 4-4-11 8:27PM)
