Well i'm trying to implement a fog system whatever i can't make it look like the original games. I've got this so far:
(First Picture = My Demo | Second Picture = The Original Game).
Any tip to make the fog look like the original game?
PS: Don't tell me about the differences in the system, the re-programmed demo has everything fixed ^^
PS2: Omg, i just figured out that real battles are placed on a cylinder. 3D, :mad3D:. We need 3D for BYOND nao.

I feel it simply might be different backgrounds either randomly generated with perlin noise or similar algorithm.

They're not randomly generated since they're always the same. But i can't get htem to look exactly like the game o.o

I don't understand what you're trying to show. Does the background "fog" image scroll or something?
|
It just fog, what i mean is that it moves, doesn't affect in anything else. But i can't make it look like the original game, i don't know why :/

If I had to take a guess, it's say it's parallax scrolling.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Parallax_scrolling Parallax scrolling is a special scrolling technique in computer graphics, wherein background images move by the camera slower than foreground images, creating an illusion of depth in a 2D video game and adding to the immersion.[1] The technique grew out of the multiplane camera technique used in traditional animation since the 1940s,[2] and was popularized in the 1982 arcade game Moon Patrol. [3][4] It looks to be a bit of transparency overlayed onto of the map. It would be very hard to be able to match something like that.
