Does things no other game maker can. Really? could someone elaborate on that for me please? |

I've always loved the way it handles sleeps and virtual threads. It makes game programming so darn easy. This is one huge feature BYOND has over Game Maker. |
Just about everyone puts something along the lines of "...and much more!" in their advertisement. Tom just decided to make up his own phrase I guess.

The simplicity of the language and the rate/speed you can push out a very decent, working, multiplayer-networking, and playable game is much quicker than what you could do with other engines.

Why aren't there very many "very decent" games out there? There's definitely a lot of "working" games, sure.

That's the dumbest excuse I've ever heard, and will get you nowhere in life. It's as if a new band said, "I'd rather not go through with this idea, guys. Our songs will be lower quality because we'll be recording them in a garage" I have created some projects. I only said its holding me back from an graphical game that I would prefer. I prefer just using html + DM. |
Anyways, more seriously, I'm not aware of any other game engines with completely hands-free multiplayer networking. It may have its downsides, but it makes getting a game up and running much faster.
Also, I'm not entirely sure how to quantify it into a "thing", but BYOND's language, DM, is one of the simplest to use by far. <edit> I've always loved the way it handles sleeps and virtual threads. It makes game programming so darn easy. </edit>
Heh, I just noticed I pulled two things that were already on the list, but they still apply.
Is there a particular game engine you want to compare it to?
