I was looking at giiji's tutorial and decided to try and make my own. It does look a bit like how his turned out, but I am trying to make 16x24 icons for my game, and would like some advise on where I could do better.

Edit: Add back
Edit2: Add sides
My initial observations are:
1. The head is a bit to small. Make it's eight a big larger by at least a pixel or 2.
2. You ended up using an even number of pixels for "each" half of your guy. this results in too many of the same color representing the same part. I.E. the line that separates the legs. split the guy in half, and add a pixel length between the too. You might have to raise the legs/arms.
2. The forearms are drawn kind of weird. You can probably bring them into the body one more pixel, and remove a lot of that dark brown color build up.
3. The side views are extremely blocky compared to the rest of the icon, and you used quite a bit of that brown on the backs.

Maggeh, I took your advise, raised the arms ( I think the legs look fine thiner with the arms that high?) Added an extra line down the middle, and that gave me some space to add in some fetures in the stomach, and also added a line to the head, Its looking much better thanks, Any more advise is welcome.

Now to work on the other areas.
Edit : Add Back State

That's much improved.

1. Looks like you forgot to draw the hin in. It just kinda looks like his face is on his neck.
2. Maybe make the colors contrast a bit. It's sort of hard to see the shading.
