I hope you didn't think I was going to release a crappy Minesweeper clone and call that a REAL game. This January marathon isn't about releasing crappy 1 hour projects and calling them a game! Oh no... we're reaching for higher heights!

I present Survival - The Lost Era! Featuring a 24/7 server and a brand new spin on gameplay!

Survival isn't your typical online RPG. Instead of killing endless vermin and leveling up, Survival strands you in a hostile new world where you don't just fight to survive - you build, forage, farm, craft, mine, smith, sneak, trap, outwit, and cheat death to survive!

The sandbox gameplay allows you to explore tons of possibilities...
  • Build a house
  • Create a farm
  • Mine through the underground
  • Explore the enormous new world
  • Team up with other players
  • Start your own town
  • Lead your own government
  • Explore perilous dungeons
  • And much, much more!

But Survival has an interesting twist - you can play two different ways. You can play on the Survival permanent server - Serenity, or you can play on the 30 day cycle server - Fury.

On Serenity, the gameplay is more relaxed - there are less hazards, natural disasters, and other events in general. Serenity is a great place to have a relaxing time with friends - survive, then build up a community.

On Fury... well, that's a tale for another day. Stay tuned to experience the Fury of Survival - coming soon!

So that's why you switched your avatar. It seems so obvious now.

And put Survival back on top of Pokemon Challenger in my favorite's list on the right!

I am surprised nobody noticed beforehand.

I noticed, but I just didn't pay much mind to it.
So for next Friday hows about some pretty Pokemon Challenger Medals? Text alone isn't good 'nuff!
Honestly your whole little "one game a week for a month thing" is pretty lame. You already made it clear that there is a chance it won't even be a full fledged game, but simply an update. And you should have been updating your games to begin with.

Using Survival for your first game is lame. You already released Survival a long time ago. You made a few tweeks and that's it and try to push it off as a whole new game. No, sorry, not biting.

Nice collection of games you've released there, Radical Designs.

Here's some cheese.
When I log in I only have a personal tab.

Yeah Polatrite! How dare you give yourself goals and stick to them. You should go out of your way, forget your life and produce entirely new, full-fledged games every week to satisfy those of us who wish to personalize your goals! Shame on you!

(P.S: I created a RoM toon on your server.)

Oh yeah! and how dare you indirectly take Survival and try to push it off as a whole new game, through no visible means!? This is madness.
Hi, I'm unable to register an account on your forum (I tried twice, never got confirmation emails for either) so I'm just gonna put this here.

General commentary:
-I LOVE the way the wind sweeps left to right across trees. make more stuff like that tia
-Some way to rearrange your inventory, dammit
-there really should be verbs for getting and dropping, just to make it easier on newbies
-clicking and dragging an item from one spot on the floor to another near you should move it ala darke dungeon
-The hp/stamina bars are very misleading; they compress the highest and lowest percents into far smaller visual regions while stretching the middle 20% out. Darke dungeon had a similar problem in that its hp meter (a heart) and mp meter (a star) had varying widths and so made it look like you had a lot more when it was thicker and a lot less when it was thinner
-you don't face towards enemies/enemies don't face towards you when attacking

Bugs:
-You can double click cave lights even while mining (or performing some other action presumably)
-Double getting an item makes it vanish into the aether (that is executing the get proc on it twice before it leaves your inventory again)
-It's impossible to access an item that is under an immobile built object (e.g. dropping a wooden pole then building an iron anvil over it)
-Other unintuitive weirdness like: log falls onto stump, stump becomes tree seed, clicking on log now attempts to log the tree and tells you you can't
-if you have a boat/raft in your inventory, the swimming animation turns into standing you piggybacked on a swimming you
-A wall growing onto you deals 25 damage (wtf?)
-Boats don't carry multiple people, if someone moves off with one they 'steal' it
-If you have a 2-boat, it fails to follow you properly
-Bunnies are really really hard to initiate combat with
-The 'ground check' vocalized by an attempt to build on a building is sent to the world
-You can double mine a wall by pushing against it just as it finishes. appears like this: You begin mining. (when first one finishes) You begin mining. You mined . (when second one finishes) You mined .
-In general, you can start a new action a fraction of a second before the old one finishes
-You can enter a light shaft from a diagonal and get yourself stuck in a wall
-The speech bubble that pops up above your character blocks actions to that tile
-Trees are capable of growing to full size in your inventory, and can be chopped in it. It also prevents you from holding multiple tree seeds in your inventory adequately (it all gets replaced by one tree)

Hope you see it!
Another bug, but this is to do with the lighting library and I'm not sure if there's an easy fix:

Dieing repeatedly on the same fire will eventually produce a patch of persistent darkness every night.

A very detailed bug report

Mechadragon, thank you so much for the fabulous bug report. I'm hard at work getting THIS Friday's release ready to go (and supporting customers on other games), but I will give some of the more critical/annoying bugs a look tonight.

In addition, Shifuimam is looking at the webserver right now to see if she can find out what is wrong with the emailer.
Can't wait for more updates. Good job. :)
