The Dunning-Kruger Effect in Off Topic

I'm sure more than a few people around here are aware of this, I just wanted to let people know of the Dunning-Kruger Effect. There are more than a few members of these forums who are a practical incarnation of it.

Now give us one for the people who take rips, change the title, make themselves administrators, and think that this automatically makes them the owner of the best original game on BYOND.

Amusingly enough, someone brought this up as a criticism towards some people in the same thread where they themselves were falling prey to it. I feel like I butchered that sentence but it's late and I can't think of a better way to phrase it.

If I cared enough to find the aforementioned thread, I would link to it, but I don't so whatever.

I think every one around here may suffer from it including me. I think we all think we're a little bit better than we actually are.

We all have a mild case of Dunning Kruger! Yay!

I did some research on this a while back. Have you ever read the studies they did on this effect? They're hilarious.
