1) The art is inconsistent. A great example would be the screenshot with the huts. Why are the trees, grass, and flowers very detailed and the little huts not?
2) The tree in the first screenshot is atrociously disproportional in comparison to the trees in the last screenshot.
3) Your people seem to be in FIGHT MODE 24/7, even if they're just casually standing still.
I'm not saying the artwork isn't good. I'm saying the artwork is not impressive and breathtaking, and I would not picture myself playing a professional game with these sprites.
I could picture playing this on my DS.
Compare. Once again, I'm not trying to put anyone down. You guys should maybe add more detail to the scenery, have consistent shading and shadows, or just focus on the gameplay and let the game speak for itself.
Thanks for your opinion, Rest asure there is always a reason for such art mix matching. Not sure if you have ever had problems finding pixel artist or staff, But did not let that halt your creation. That's what i went through. I did not have the luxury of constant artist until late in the production. Unlike many other programmers i did not let that stop me. Thanks for your suggestions, they are welcomed.
To be honest, I think the mismatched art is a good thing. Honestly, this is Byond. Nothing is going to be on the scale of MMO games like WoW or Runescape. It's actually pretty refreshing, providing it's all original. Besides, a little chaos never hurt anyone.
