Two ROMs on one motherboard? in Off Topic

Well, I've got two questions about this, can anyone tell me what's the point and the use of it? And how that setup is called by name?

By ROMS, are we talking BIOSes? Backup BIOSes are usually to save failsafe configurations, so when you set stupid stuff to the BIOS, your PC can still at least boot to correct it.
